Non-Linear Digital Self-Interference Cancellation for In-Band Full-Duplex Radios Using Neural Networks
نویسنده
چکیده
Full-duplex systems require very strong selfinterference cancellation in order to operate correctly and a significant part of the self-interference signal is due to non-linear effects created by various transceiver impairments. As such, linear cancellation alone is usually not sufficient and sophisticated non-linear cancellation algorithms have been proposed in the literature. In this work, we investigate the use of a neural network as an alternative to the traditional non-linear cancellation method that is based on polynomial basis functions. Measurement results from a full-duplex testbed demonstrate that a small and simple feed-forward neural network canceller works exceptionally well, as it can match the performance of the polynomial non-linear canceller with significantly lower computational complexity.

Full-duplex Wireless: Design, Implementation and Characterization. by Melissa Duarte One of the fundamental assumptions made in the design of wireless networks is that the wireless devices have to be half-duplex, i.e., they cannot simultaneously transmit and receive in the same frequency band. The key deterrent in implementing a full-duplex wireless device, which can simultaneously transmit and...

As one of the promising approaches to increase the network capacity, Full-duplex (FD) communications have recently gained a remarkable attention. FD communication enables wireless nodes to simultaneously send and receive data through the same frequency band. Thanks to the recent achievements in the self-interference (SI) cancellation, this type of communication is expected to be potentially uti...

In this paper, the MIMO full-duplex system is proposed to remove self-interference signal using modified DFT based channel estimation technique. In SISO full-duplex systems only single transceiver can transmit data on either side simultaneously whereas in MIMO full-duplex systems multiple transceivers can transmit data simultaneously from both sides. During MIMO full-duplex transmission self-in...
متن کاملA Linearization Technique for Self-Interference Cancellation in Full-Duplex Radios
The fundamental problem in the design of a fullduplex radio is the cancellation of the self-interference (SI) signal generated by the transmitter. Current techniques for suppressing SI rely on generating a copy of the SI signal and subtracting it partly in the RF (radio frequency) and digital domains. A critical step in replicating the self-interference is the estimation of the multi-path chann...

Recent wireless testbed implementations have proven that full-duplex communication is in fact possible and can outperform half-duplex systems. Many of these implementations modify existing halfduplex systems to operate in full-duplex. To realize the full potential of full-duplex, radios need to be designed with self-interference in mind. In our work, we use a novel patch antenna prototype in an...
