Conceptual Graphs and Formal Concept Analysis
نویسنده
چکیده
It is shown how Conceptual Graphs and Formal Concept Analysis may be combined to obtain a formalization of Elementary Logic which is useful for knowledge representation and processing. For this, a translation of conceptual graphs to formal contexts and concept lattices is described through an example. Using a suitable mathematization of conceptual graphs, basics of a uniied mathematical theory for Elementary Logic are proposed.

Concept Graphs as Semantic Structures for Contextual Judgment Logic
This paper presents a mathematization of the philosophical doctrine of judgments as an extension of the mathematization of the philosophical doctrine of concepts developed in Formal Concept Analysis. The chosen approach was strongly stimulated by J. F. Sowa’s theory of conceptual graphs. The mathematized conceptual graphs, called concept graphs, are mathematical semantic structures based on for...
متن کاملConceptual Modeling with Formal Concept Analysis on Natural Language Texts
The paper presents conceptual modelling technique on natural language texts. This technique combines the usage of two conceptual modeling paradigms: conceptual graphs and Formal Concept Analysis. Conceptual graphs serve as semantic models of text sentences and the data source for concept lattice – the basic conceptual model in Formal Concept Analysis. With the use of conceptual graphs the Text ...
متن کاملSimple Concept Graphs: A Logic Approach
Conceptual Graphs and Formal Concept Analysis are combined by developing a logical theory for concept graphs of relational contexts. Therefore, concept graphs are introduced as syntactical constructs , and their semantics is deened based on relational contexts. For this contextual logic, a sound and complete system of inference rules is presented and a standard graph is introduced that entails ...
متن کاملSimple Conceptual Graphs and Simple Concept Graphs
Sowa’s Conceptual Graphs and Formal Concept Analysis have been combined into another knowledge representation formalism named Concept Graphs. In this paper, we compare Simple Conceptual Graphs with Simple Concept Graphs, by successively studying their different syntaxes, semantics, and entailment calculus. We show that these graphs are almost identical mathematical objects, have equivalent sema...
متن کاملExploring, Reasoning with and Validating Directed Graphs by Applying Formal Concept Analysis to Conceptual Graphs
Although tools exist to aid practitioners in the construction of directed graphs typified by Conceptual Graphs (CGs), it is still quite possible for them to draw the wrong model, mistakenly or otherwise. In larger or more complex CGs it is furthermore often difficult–without close inspection–to see clearly the key features of the model. This paper thereby presents a formal method, based on the ...
