چکیده
Having to design electronics for high-energy physics experiment such as the Electromagnetic CALorimer (ECAL) of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment leads to the study of components under irradiation. We are designing a radhard readout system. This paper will present the facility we are using to study and validate the radiation hardness of our system. This is a proton beam located at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI). The results of a low dose-rate irradiation of some transistors from the UHF1X bipolar technology will be used as an example of the tests made using this facility.

Studies on electron beam induced DNA damage and repair kinetics in lymphocytes by alkaline comet assay
Background: Exposure to ionizing radiation is known to induce oxidative stress followed by damage to critical biomolecules like lipids, proteins and DNA through radiolysis of cellular water. Since radiation has been widely used as an important tool in therapy of cancer, the detailed investigation regarding the DNA damage and repair kinetics would help to predict the radiation sensitivity of cel...
متن کاملCalibration of Gafchromic EBT3 for Dose Measurements in Low-Energy Proton Beam
The use of radiochromic film (RCF) dosimetry is widely consolidated for applications in photon, electron and proton beams. It offers several advantages, in particular, two-dimensional measurements of dose distributions with high spatial resolution, no post irradiation processing required and no daylight sensitivity. In addition, it shows small LET and energy dependence. GAFCHROMIC® EBT3 films, ...

Since 1957, broad proton beam radiotherapy with a spread out Bragg peak has been used for cancer treatment. More recently, studies on the use of proton therapy in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) were performed and although the benefit of using protons for the treatment of NSCLC is recognized, more work is needed to gather additional data for the understanding of cell respons...
متن کاملProton beam dosimetry by CR-39 track-etched detector
Background: High and intermediate energy protons are not able to form a track in a solid state nuclear track detector (SSNTD) directly. However, such tracks can be formed through secondary particles created during primary radiation nuclear reactions in a SSNTD. Materials and Methods: The protons with primary energies of 9.6 and 30 MeV available at the cyclotron accelerator with corresponding lo...
متن کاملConsider potential of gold nanoparticles with proton therapy compared with KV and MEV X-ray therapy.
Introduction: Many study shown the effectiveness dose enhancement with gold nanoparticles (GNPs), especially with low-energy x-rays. Recently, proton beam radiation therapy (PBRT) has attention as a treatment for tumors. The advantage in PBRT, which releases high dose at the controllable Bragg peak position that localized for Au target and the released dose increased in depth....
