چکیده

We compare the performance of a variant of the standard Dynamic Alternative Routing (DAR) technique commonly used in telephone and ATM networks to a path selection algorithm that is based on the balanced allocations principle [4, 18] the Balanced Dynamic Alternative Routing (BDAR) algorithm. While the standard technique checks alternative routes sequentially until available bandwidth is found, the BDAR algorithm compares and chooses the best among a small number of alternatives. We show that, at the expense of a minor increase in routing overhead, the BDAR gives a substantial improvement in network performance in terms of both network congestion and blocking probabilities.

A Path Computation algorithm in MPLS Traffic Engineering for reducing blocking probability

In this paper a new path computation algorithm in Traffic Engineering in MPLS networks for reducing blocking probability of requests is proposed which is an improvement of TEDB algorithm. The TE-DB is one of best path computation algorithm which is proposed in literatures. The Algorithm deploys multiple path routing and distributes the load more balanced n network. In addition, it reduces the b...

Examining of Blocking Probability Computation in Optical Network

In this work, we examine analytical techniques; blocking probability is the statistical Probability that a connection cannot be established due to insufficient transmission. Resources in the network, usually expressed as a percentage or decimal equivalent of calls blocked by the network congestion during the busy hour. We also have shown an analytical model for evaluating the blocking probabili...

Multi-Level Access Priority Channel Allocation with Time Threshold in Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) Networks

The focus of this work is on how the congestion experienced on the GSM network can be minimized. The voice calls is broken into sub-classes of services and a level of priority is established among the classes so that the most urgent and important service will have access to the channel by preempting the lower priority services during congestion. The voice communications over the GSM network usi...

Least Square based Curve Fitting in Internet Access Traffic Sharing in Two Operator Environment

In Internet service market, at many places the competition occurs among internet service providers. The network suffers from congestion and users have priority to prefer that network having lowest congestion. During the repeated connecting attempt process the user has to maintain call-by-call effort. In this paper Markov chain model is used to establish a relationship between internet access tr...

Dynamic Routing and Congestion Control Through Random Assignment of Routes

We introduce an algorithm for maximizing utility through congestion control and random allocation of routes to users. The allocation is defined by a probability distribution whose degree of randomness as measured by its entropy, is controlled. We seek to use the entropy to modulate between the two extremes of path specification; minimum cost path selection on one end and equiprobable path alloc...
