چکیده

Employing a buffer gas mixture of CO and CO2, the equilibrium oxygen partial pressure was varied across the Mo/MoO3 proximity line by arying the ratio of concentration of the two gases, as described in an earlier communication. This led to the reduction of MoO in one case and 3 xidation of the reduced phase (Mo or MoO2) in the other with a concomitant variation in the microstructural features of the resulting species. he formation and growth of the new oxide surface under conditions of oxygen potential modulation has been found to impart enhanced sensing haracteristics to the MoO3-based chemical sensors for low levels of carbon monoxide (14–100 ppm CO) in the ambient. 2006 Elsevier B.V. Improvement of H2S Sensing Properties of SnO2-Based Thick Film Gas Sensors Promoted with MoO3 and NiO

The effects of the SnO2 pore size and metal oxide promoters on the sensing properties of SnO2-based thick film gas sensors were investigated to improve the detection of very low H2S concentrations (<1 ppm). SnO2 sensors and SnO2-based thick-film gas sensors promoted with NiO, ZnO, MoO3, CuO or Fe2O3 were prepared, and their sensing properties were examined in a flow system. The SnO2 materials w...

Ceramic Materials and Nano-structures for Chemical Sensing

High selectivity, enhanced sensitivity, short response time and long shelf-life are some of the key features sought in the solid-state ceramic-based chemical sensors. Since the sensing mechanism and catalytic activity are predominantly surface-dominated, benign surface features in terms of higher aspect ratio, large surface area and, open and connected porosity, are required to realize a succes...

PREPARATION OF MoO3 THIN FILMS BY SPRAY PYROLYSIS AND ITS GAS SENSING PERFORMANCE

MoO3 thin films have been prepared by a simple spray pyrolysis technique at substrate temperature 250C. The structure and morphology of thin films are characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy and UV-vis spectroscopy. The gas sensing properties of MoO3 thin film is studied at gas concentration 400 ppm and working temperature of 100–400 C. It was found that th...

Fabrication, characterization and investigation of gas sensing properties of MoO3 thin films

In this research, molybdenum oxide (α-MoO3) thin films were coated on glass substrates using spray pyrolysis technique. 0.05 M ammonium heptamolybdate tetrahydrate was used as precursor and deionized water as solvent. The effects of carrier gas pressure, during the spraying of the solution, on the structural, optical, morphological and gas sensing properties of thin films were studied. X-ray di...
