چکیده

In this study, we investigate the oscillation phenomena in a random-coupled network of hard-type oscillators whose nonlinear characteristics are represented by fifth-power polynomials. Recently, we have shown that the chaotic phenomena are seen in the network with softtype oscillators whose nonlinear characteristics are represented by third-power polynomials. In this paper, for the networks with hard-type oscillators, we show that not only chaotic phenomena but also torus and spatio-temporal patterns such as amplitude switching are observed by changing the coupling coefficients.

Pattern formation in active oscillatory media and its relation to associative memory networks

We continue to study the arrays of nonlinear coupled oscillators. The networks of associative memory based on limit-cycle oscillators connected via complex-valued Hermitian matrices were previously designed. Another class of networks consisting of locally connected nonlinear oscillators, closely related to so-called cellular neural networks, is the subject of study in the present paper. In spat...

Indipendent Dynamics in Extended Nonlinear Networks

A new strategy to identify the independent dynamics of spatially extended nonlinear networks is proposed. Starting from spatial modes theory an index has been defined as the number of relevant spatial modes and therefore identifies the system degree of freedom. The proposed methodology is validated by quantifying self-synchronization in three pattern-oriented systems: bidimensional Chua’s circu...

Delay-induced patterns in a two-dimensional lattice of coupled oscillators

We show how a variety of stable spatio-temporal periodic patterns can be created in 2D-lattices of coupled oscillators with non-homogeneous coupling delays. The results are illustrated using the FitzHugh-Nagumo coupled neurons as well as coupled limit cycle (Stuart-Landau) oscillators. A "hybrid dispersion relation" is introduced, which describes the stability of the patterns in spatially exten...

STCS-GAF: Spatio-Temporal Compressive Sensing in Wireless Sensor Networks- A GAF-Based Approach

Routing and data aggregation are two important techniques for reducing communication cost of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). To minimize communication cost, routing methods can be merged with data aggregation techniques. Compressive sensing (CS) is one of the effective techniques for aggregating network data, which can reduce the cost of communication by reducing the amount of routed data to t...

Chimera states: Effects of different coupling topologies

Collective behavior among coupled dynamical units can emerge in various forms as a result of different coupling topologies as well as different types of coupling functions. Chimera states have recently received ample attention as a fascinating manifestation of collective behavior, in particular describing a symmetry breaking spatiotemporal pattern where synchronized and desynchronized states co...
