Optimal power allocation over parallel Gaussian channels in cognitive radio and jammer games

چکیده
Cognitive jammers are able to deploy advanced strategies that degrade the performance of cognitive radio user communications. In this paper, we study the problem of power allocation in cognitive radio user and jammer games, over parallel Gaussian channels. We model the interaction between a communicator (a transmitter-receiver pair) and a jammer using zero-sum games with continuous action sets; we describe unilateral, Nash and stackelberg games. We compare the Nash equilibrium, the Stackelberg equilibrium and the minmax/maxmin optimal power allocations through the simulation of the diverse game scenarios. Finally, we give the theoretical proof of existence and uniqueness of the Nash equilibrium.

Closed Form Expression of the Saddle Point in Cognitive Radio and Jammer Power Allocation Game
In this paper, we study the power allocation problem for a cognitive radio in the presence of a smart jammer over parallel Gaussian channels. The objective of the jammer is to minimize the total capacity achievable by the cognitive radio. We model the interaction between the two players as a zero-sum game, for which we derive the saddle point closed form expression. First, we start by solving e...
متن کاملOptimal Power Allocation over Parallel Gaussian Broadcast Channels
We consider the problem of optimal power allocation over a family of parallel Gaussian broadcast channels, each with a different set of noise powers for the users, and obtain a characterization of the optimal solution as well as the resulting capacity region. The solution has a simple greedy structure, just like the corresponding solution to the parallel Gaussian multi-access channel. It is a g...
متن کاملOptimal Strategies for Gaussian Jamming in Block-Fading Channels under Delay and Power Constraints
Without assuming any knowledge on source’s codebook and its output signals, we formulate a Gaussian jamming problem in block fading channels as a two-player zero sum game. The outage probability is adopted as an objective function, over which transmitter aims at minimization and jammer aims at maximization by selecting their power control strategies. Optimal power control strategies for each pl...
متن کاملDistributed Power Allocation for Parallel Broadcast Channels with Only Common Information in Cognitive Tactical Radio Networks
A tactical radio network is a radio network in which a transmitter broadcasts the same information to its receivers. In this paper, dynamic spectrum management is studied for multiple cognitive tactical radio networks coexisting in the same area. First, we consider the problem of common rate maximization subject to a total power constraint for a single tactical radio network having multiple rec...
متن کاملGaussian arbitrarily varying channels
The arbitrarily varying channel (AVC) can be interpreted as a model of a channel jammed by an intelligent and unpredictable adversary. We investigate the asymptotic reliability of optimal random block codes on Gaussian arbitrarily varying channels (GAVC’s). A GAVC is a discrete-time memoryless Gaussian channel with input power constraint PT and noise power N,, which is further corrupted by an a...
