A MahomEDan, male, aged 40 years, was admitted to the Hospital from a neighbouring village on 13th March, 1919. He complained of swelling and pain in the left side of the abdomen and also on the left flank. He also gave a history of passing liquid stools with mucus. These troubles were said to have existed during the last three months; but the patient also gave a history of having suffered from intermittent pains in the left lumbar region during the last fifteen years; this, however, did not disable him for work until three months before his admission into Hospital. , His general health
