چکیده

Different transceiver processing methods are considered for filter bank multicarrier (FBMC) multiple access MIMO system. FBMC is considered a contender as an access method for 5G due to better spectral properties without the loss of data rate incurred by the presence of cyclic prefix in comparison to OFDM. Flexible spectrum utilization and possibility of using different pulse shapes for a variety of scenarios makes it an attractive option. However, the main challenge in FBMC systems is the presence of intersymbol interference (ISI) and intercarrier inteference (ICI). This makes the receiver performance to be degraded without suitable methods to mitigate those effects especially in the case of MIMO systems where there is a significant need for further investigation. We consider synchronous uplink and downlink multiple access with different processing techniques to alleviate interference. Results show that for the uplink we need to employ forward error correction in addition to receiver processing to obtain acceptable performance levels. With channel state and all users information available, the downlink produces better bit error rates (BER) comparatively. Reduced Complexity Transceiver Processing for MIMO FBMC Systems

Filter bank multicarrier (FBMC) scheme is currently under investigation as a viable candidate for radio access replacing the current orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). This is due to the possibility of higher spectral efficiency and less susceptibility to synchronization errors through flexible pulse shape design as opposed to traditional rectangular shape or sinc waveform, in t...

Widely Linear Processing in MIMO FBMC/OQAM Systems

In this paper, we investigate the use of widely linear processing in multiple-input multiple-out (MIMO) systems employing filter bank based multi-carrier with offset quadrature amplitude modulation (FBMC/OQAM). The concept of a twostep receiver combining linear processing and widely linear processing is presented. In the first step we cancel the intrinsic interference that prevents us from expl...

Joint channel estimation / data detection in MIMO-FBMC/OQAM systems - A tensor-based approach

Filter bank-based multicarrier (FBMC) systems are currently being considered as a prevalent candidate for replacing the long established cyclic prefix (CP)-based orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CP-OFDM) in the physical layer of next generation communications systems. In particular, FBMC/OQAM has received increasing attention due to, among other features, its potential for maximum sp...

Precoding for Multiuser MIMO

Future Wireless Networks are expected to adopt multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) systems whose performance is maximized by making use of precoding at the transmitter. This chapter describes the recent advances in precoding design for MU-MIMO and introduces a new technique to improve the precoder performance. Without claiming to be comprehensive, the chapter gives deep introduc...
