Radio number for trees

چکیده
Let G be a connected graph with diameter diam(G). The radio number for G, denoted by rn(G), is the smallest integer k such that there exists a function f : V (G) → {0, 1, 2, · · · , k} with the following satisfied for all vertices u and v: |f(u)−f(v)| ≥ diam(G)−dG(u, v)+1, where dG(u, v) is the distancee between u and v. We prove a lower bound for the radio number of trees, and characterize the trees achieving this bound. Moreover, we prove another lower bound for the radio number of spiders (trees with at most one vertex of degree more than two) and characterize the spiders achieving this bound. Our results generalize the radio number for paths obtained by Liu and Zhu.

Linear and cyclic radio k-labelings of trees
Motivated by problems in radio channel assignments, we consider radio k-labelings of graphs. For a connected graph G and an integer k ≥ 1, a linear radio k-labeling of G is an assignment f of nonnegative integers to the vertices of G such that |f(x)− f(y)| ≥ k + 1− dG(x, y), for any two distinct vertices x and y, where dG(x, y) is the distance between x and y in G. A cyclic k-labeling of G is d...
متن کاملUpper Bounds on the Radio Number of Some Trees
Abstract: Let G be a simple,connected and undirected graph with diameter d. For a positive integer k (≤ d), a radio k-labeling f of G is an assignment of non-negative integers, called labels to the vertices of G such that if u, v ∈ V (G) are distinct then d(u, v) + |f(u) − f(v)| ≥ k + 1 where d(u, v) is the distance between u and v. The maximum label (positive integer) assigned by f to some ver...

One of the most important tools for system development and radio planning are the radio propagation channel models. These models allow system designers and radio pl...
متن کاملEstimating the Number of Wideband Radio Sources
In this paper, a new approach for estimating the number of wideband sources is proposed which is based on RSS or ISM algorithms. Numerical results show that the MDL-based and EIT-based proposed algorithm havea much better detection performance than that in EGM and AIC cases for small differences between the incident angles of sources. In addition, for similar conditions, RSS algorithm offers hi...
