چکیده

AN IDEAL LESION for coronary artery bypass graft surgery is a severe proximal narrowing of a major coronary artery with a distal vessel free of severe disease. It would be helpful if it were possible to identify those patients likely to have such ideal "surgical" lesions prior to arteriography by means of the electrocardiogram. It has been proposed that the presence of transient ST-segment elevation (as opposed to ST-segment depression) in association with ischemic cardiac pain suggests that a severe proximal narrowing of a major coronary artery exists.1 This report is designed to test that hypothesis by evaluating the significance of the direction of the ST-segment shift during chest pain in 82 consecutive patients with ischemic heart disease

[Differential characteristics of patients with acute coronary syndrome without ST-segment elevation compared to those with transient ST-segment elevation].

OBJECTIVE To evaluate different characteristics of patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) without ST-segment elevation compared with transient St-segment elevation. DESIGN An observational, prospective study. SETTING A 12-bed coronary care unit. PATIENTS Consecutive patients of ACS without persistent ST-segment elevation. MAIN VARIABLES OF INTEREST The population was divided intro ...

Frequency, characteristics, and clinical significance of transient ST segment elevation in patients with acute coronary syndromes.

BACKGROUND Prior investigations of transient myocardial ischaemia have focused on ST depression events. Therefore, the purpose of this analysis was to determine the frequency, characteristics, and clinical significance of transient ST segment elevation in patients with acute coronary syndromes. METHODS A secondary analysis from two prospective studies utilizing 12-lead ST segment monitoring w...

Inappropriate microvascular constriction produced transient ST-segment elevation in patients with syndrome X.

OBJECTIVES The aim of this project was to study the responsible site(s) and underlying cardiac disease(s) of patients with transient ST-segment elevation and normal coronary angiograms. BACKGROUND Transient ST-segment elevation has been demonstrated in patients with variant angina or unstable angina. In those patients, epicardial coronary arteries, not microvessels, are always the responsible...

بررسی تغییرات قطعه‌ی ST در روش 15 اشتقاقی در بیماران مبتلا به سندروم کرونری حاد

Background & Objective: Patients with ischemic heart disease classified to two major groups: patients with stable angina and patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS). Previous studies showed that posterior segment of left ventricle is a silent segment on ECG, and routine 12 leads electrocardiogram (ECG) is not sensitive for evaluation of posterior infarction. This study designed for evaluati...

24 Hour ST Segment Analysis in Transient Left Ventricular Apical Ballooning

OBJECTIVE The etiologic basis of transient left ventricular apical ballooning, a novel cardiac syndrome, is not clear. Among the proposed pathomechanisms is coronary vasospasm. Long-term ST segment analysis may detect vasospastic episodes but has not been reported. METHODS 30 consecutive patients with transient left ventricular apical ballooning, left ventricular dysfunction and normal or nea...

Clinical Significance of Acute Coronary Syndrome with Transient ST-Segment Elevation Significado clínico del síndrome coronario agudo con elevación transitoria del segmento ST

The electrocardiographic evidence of injury appears in the presence of evident diastolic depolarization due to an important reduction in blood supply or other non-ischemic causal factors. This in turn leads to a ‘‘defective’’ transmembrane action potential reflected upon the ECG tracing as an ST-segment deviation. When diastolic depolarization occurs at subendocardial level, an ST-segment desce...
