چکیده

Being a huge system, Internet topology structure is very complex. It can’t be treated as a plane simply, and its hierarchy must be analyzed. We used the k-core decomposition to disentangle the hierarchical structure of Internet Router-level topology. By analyzing the router-lever Internet topology measuring data from CAIDA (The Cooperative Association for Internet Data Analysis) ,we studied the characteristics of the nodes in the inner hierarchy and outer hierarchy respectively. The frequency-degree power law of the nodes which coreness is lower and the regionally distribution of the nodes which coreness is higher were concluded. At last, the topology of every hierarchy was described by giving their figures. These descriptions can provide a valuable reference for modeling on the Internet topology.

A Novel Methodologyof Router-To-ASMapping inspired by Community Discovery

In the last decade many works has been done on the Internet topology at router or autonomous system (AS) level. As routers is the essential composition of ASes while ASes dominate the behavior of their routers. It is no doubt that identifying the affiliation between routers and ASes can let us gain a deeper understanding on the topology. However, the existing methods that assign a router to an ...

Network Topologies, Power Laws, and Hierarchy

It has long been thought that the Internet, and its constituent networks, are hierarchical in nature. Consequently, the network topology generators most widely used by the Internet research community, GT-ITM [7] and Tiers [11], create networks with a deliberately hierarchical structure. However, recent work by Faloutsos et al. [13] revealed that the Internet’s degree distribution — the distribu...

Topology, Hierarchy, and Correlations in Internet Graphs

We present a statistical analysis of different metrics characterizing the topological properties of Internet maps, collected at two different resolution scales: the router and the autonomous system level. The metrics we consider allow us to confirm the presence of scale-free signatures in several statistical distributions, as well as to show in a quantitative way the hierarchical nature of the ...

Analyzing and Utilizing the Collaboration Structure for Reliable Router-Level Networks

As the Internet represents a key social infrastructure, its reliability is essential if we are to survive failures. Physical connectivity of networks is also essential as it characterizes reliability. There are collaboration structures, which are topological structures where two or more nodes are connected to a node, and collaboration structures are observed in transcriptional regulatory networ...
