Load Sharing in Cluster Service Provision

چکیده
Many of the factors that are driving the development and the adoption of grids, such as scale, dynamic and distributed characteristics and heterogeneity, are also pushing to the forefront service quality issues in grid computing. These include performance, reliability and security. Although grid middleware can address some of these issues, it has become imperative to ensure adequate service provision from compute servers. This paper is concerned with the presentation of a load sharing scheme which can contribute to service provision in grid computing, at cluster level. As the aim of the scheme is to enhance performance and reliability, a proactive, non-preemptive and distributed approach was adopted. This ensures that load information is gathered continuously before it is needed, and that a task is allocated to the most appropriate node for execution. Reliability is enhanced by the decentralised nature of the scheme and the symmetric roles that the nodes can

Policy Model for Sharing Network Slices in 5G Core Network
As mobile data traffic increases, and the number of services provided by the mobile network increases, service load flows as well, which requires changing in the principles, models, and strategies for media transmission streams serving to guarantee the given nature of giving a wide scope of services in Flexible and cost-effective. Right now, the fundamental question remains what number of netwo...
متن کاملLocal Cluster First Load Sharing Policy for Heterogeneous Clusters
This paper studies the load sharing problem among heterogeneous cluster systems. The heterogeneous clusters we consider are time-sharing, and the computers in these clusters have different CPU powers and memory capacities. Load sharing means even workloads among all coordinated computers in the system. As some nodes suffer from high loading, it is necessary to migrate some jobs to the nodes wit...
متن کاملResource Acquisition from Set-Top-Boxes for Service Provision
Resource Acquisition service is a network-based service that acquires sufficient resources to satisfy the application requirement. Set-top-boxes (STB) are good sources of resource providers delivering this type of service collaboratively. Unfortunately, the accessibility of STBs is controlled by end-node users. It leads to uncertainty of the amount of resource available to the service operators...
متن کاملInvestigation on Reliability Estimation of Loosely Coupled Software as a Service Execution Using Clustered and Non-Clustered Web Server
Evaluating the reliability of loosely coupled Software as a Service through the paradigm of a cluster-based and non-cluster-based web server is considered to be an important attribute for the service delivery and execution. We proposed a novel method for measuring the reliability of Software as a Service execution through load testing. The fault count of the model against the stresses of users ...
متن کاملH. Karatza: a Comparison of Load Sharing & Job Scheduling in a Network of Workstations
This paper examines load sharing and job scheduling in a network of workstations (NOW). Along with traditional methods of load sharing and job scheduling, it also examines methods referred to as epoch load sharing and epoch scheduling respectively. Epoch load sharing evenly distributes the load among workstations with job migration that occurs only at the end of predefined intervals. The time i...
