چکیده
Figures 1 and 2 describe the management of a 47-year old patient presenting with a chronic false aneurysm after an extra-anatomic bypass placed for aortic coarctation during childhood. The condition was treated with two covered stents of decreased diameters and an hourglass-shaped plug. Post-procedure and control imaging at 1 year showed no complications. Figure 1: Preoperative findings. (A) Three-dimensional (3D) magnetic resonance imaging reconstructed image, (B and C) two-dimensional (2D) computed tomography (CT) scan and 3D CT scan reconstructed images. It shows a distal pseudoaneurysm of the aorto-aortic bypass and persistence of blood flow through the native coarcted aorta. Figure 2: Operative procedure, immediate and late results. (A–E) Peri-procedural aortography aortography showing an initial distal pseudoaneurysm treated by two covered endovascular stent grafts into the aortic bypass and the plug added at the end of the procedure. (F) A 3D CT scan showing the post-procedural result at 3 days. (G) A 3D MRI reconstructed image showing the latest result at 1 year.

Late lumen loss in thoracic aortic end graft after endovascular procedure of a traumatic pseudoaneurysm
We report the case of a 23-year-old woman who died due to endograft stenosis 20 months after thoracic endovascular aortic repair. The patient presented with the pseudocoarctation syndrome. Although angioplasty of stenosis endograft was successfully performed, severe metabolic complications were lethal.
متن کاملLate outcomes of reintervention on the descending aorta after repair of aortic coarctation.
BACKGROUND After repair of aortic coarctation, patients may develop restenosis, aneurysms, and pseudoaneurysms at the site of prior repair. We assessed the outcomes of late reintervention on the descending aorta after aortic coarctation repair. METHODS AND RESULTS From March 1954 to July 2008, 130 patients had operations or endovascular procedures on the descending aorta after previous coarct...
متن کاملChallenges of “Reverse” Aortic Arch Debranching for Repair of the Ascending Aorta by Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair
INTRODUCTION Ascending aortic pathology presents a unique challenge for treatment by thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR), because of lack of adequate endograft landing zones. This report describes a unique "reverse" extra-anatomical aortic arch debranching procedure performed to enable TEVAR of the ascending aorta. REPORT A 71-year-old male presented with a large ascending aortic pseu...
متن کاملEndovascular Treatment for Pseudoaneurysms after Surgical Correction of Aortic Coarctation
Late complications after surgical repair of aortic coarctation are not uncommon. Among these complications pseudoaneurysms are the most frequent complications, occurring between 3 and 38%. Reoperation in these patients is associated with high morbidity and mortality. In the last decade, endovascular techniques emerged as an alternative to conventional surgery with excellent results. We report t...
متن کاملLate Disruption of a Polyethylene Terephthalate Aortic Graft 30 Years after Initial Graft Placement
A 71 year old male who had undergone extra-anatomic bypass grafting between the ascending aorta and the thoraco-abdominal aorta at 41 years of age for aortic coarctation was admitted with back pain and dyspnea. A 16 mm Cooley double velour knitted polyethylene terephthalate (PET) graft was used in the initial operation in 1983. Computed tomography showed disruption of the initial PET graft perf...
