Long-range percolation in R

چکیده
Let X be either Z or the points of a Poisson process in R of intensity 1. Given parameters r and p, join each pair of points of X within distance r independently with probability p. This is the simplest case of a ‘spreadout’ percolation model studied by Penrose [6], who showed that, as r → ∞, the average degree of the corresponding random graph at the percolation threshold tends to 1, i.e., the percolation threshold and the threshold for criticality of the naturally associated branching process approach one another. Here we show that this result follows immediately from of a general result of [3] on inhomogeneous random graphs.

Quantum percolation in power-law diluted chains
We investigate the quantum percolation problem in a diluted chain with long-range hopping amplitudes. Each bond is activated with probability p(r) = p1/r , where r is the distance between two sites and α characterizes the range of the interactions. The average participation ratio of all eigenstates is used as a measure of the wave-functions localization length. We found that, above a quantum pe...
متن کاملCompeting Long-Range Bonds and Site Dilution in the One-Dimensional Bond-Percolation Problem
The long-range bond-percolation problem, on a linear chain (d = 1), in the presence of diluted sites (with an occupancy probability ps for an active site) is studied by means of a Monte Carlo simulation. The occupancy probability for a bond between two active sites i and j, separated by a distance rij is given by pij = p/r ij , where p represents the usual occupancy probability between nearest-...
متن کاملCritical Percolation Phase and Thermal BKT Transition in a Scale-Free Network with Short-Range and Long-Range Random Bonds
Percolation in a scale-free hierarchical network is solved exactly by renormalization-group theory, in terms of the different probabilities of short-range and long-range bonds. A phase of critical percolation, with algebraic (Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless) geometric order, occurs in the phase diagram, in addition to the ordinary (compact) percolating phase and the non-percolating phase. It is...
متن کاملPercolation of arbitrary words in one dimension
We consider a type of long-range percolation problem on the positive integers, motivated by earlier work of others on the appearance of (in)finite words within a site percolation model. The main issue is whether a given infinite binary word appears within an iid Bernoulli sequence at locations that satisfy certain constraints. We settle the issue in some cases, and provide partial results in ot...
متن کاملOn the growth of the supercritical long-range percolation cluster on Z and an application for spatial epidemics
We consider long-range percolation on Z in which the measure on the configuration of edges is a product measure and the probability that two vertices at distance r share an edge is given by p(r) = 1 − exp[−λ(r)] ∈ (0, 1). Here λ(r) is a strictly positive, non-increasing regularly varying function. We investigate the asymptotic growth of the size of the k-ball around the origin, |Bk|, i.e. the n...
