چکیده
In this paper we present a novel approach to estimate and analyze 3D uid structur eand motion of clouds from multi-spectrum 2D cloud image sequences. A curate cloud-top structure and motion are very important for a host of meteorolo gical and climate applications. However, due to the extremely complex nature of cloud uid motion, classical nonrigid motion analysis methods will be insu cient to solve this particular problem. In this pap er, two spectra of satellite cloud images are utilized. The high-resolution visible channel is rst used to perform cloud tracking by using a recursive algorithm which inte grates lo cal motionanalysis with a set of global uid constr aints, de ned according to the physical uid dynamics. Then, the infrared channel (thermodynamic information) is incorporated to postprocess the cloud tracking results in order to captur e the cloud density variations and small details of cloud uidity. Experimental results on GOES (Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite) cloud image sequences are presented in order to validate and evaluate both the e e ctiveness and robustness of our algorithm.

متن کاملTracking Nonrigid Motion and Structure from 2D Satellite Cloud Images without Correspondences
ÐTracking both structure and motion of nonrigid objects from monocular images is an important problem in vision. In this paper, a hierarchical method which integrates local analysis (that recovers small details) and global analysis (that appropriately limits possible nonrigid behaviors) is developed to recover dense depth values and nonrigid motion from a sequence of 2D satellite cloud images w...
متن کاملWave Propagation Analysis of CNT Reinforced Composite Micro-Tube Conveying Viscose Fluid in Visco-Pasternak Foundation Under 2D Multi-Physical Fields
In this research, wave propagation analysis in polymeric smart nanocomposite micro-tubes reinforced by single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) conveying fluid is studied. The surrounded elastic medium is simulated by visco-Pasternak model while the composite micro-tube undergoes electro-magneto-mechanical fields. By means of micromechanics method, the constitutive structural coefficients of nano...
متن کاملStructure and Nonrigid Motion Analysis from 2d Images
Structure and nonrigid motion analysis is a very important problem in computer vision. Most of the work in nonrigid motion analysis thus far has aimed at correspondence estimation from the complete structure of the scene (stereo or range), \optic ow" analysis of image sequences, or 2D image registrations. Limited study has been conducted to track both structure and nonrigid motion at the same t...
متن کامل3D motion estimation of atmospheric layers from image sequences
In this paper, we address the problem of estimating three-dimensional motions of a stratified atmosphere from satellite image sequences. The analysis of three-dimensional atmospheric fluid flows associated with incomplete observation of atmospheric layers due to the sparsity of cloud systems is very difficult. This makes the estimation of dense atmospheric motion field from satellite images seq...
