چکیده

Event-based Integration (EBI) is an promising technology for constructing large software architectures. It can integrate concurrent, heterogeneous components in dynamic software architecture. This paper discusses our experience in integrating a set of off-the-shelf components to create an event-based software architecture development environment. We discuss the benefits and obstacles of integrating Common-OffThe-Shelf (COTS) components, explain the rationale for choosing event-based integration, and report some experiences from this effort. Visualizing Software Architecture with Off-The-Shelf Components

Software Architecture provides a high-level model of the components and connectors that comprise a complex system. Visualizing both its static description and dynamic execution facilitates understanding of its key properties by software architects. Off-the-shelf components provide a rich foundation on which an advanced architecture visualization tool can be constructed. This paper discusses our...

Off-the-Shelf Electronics Prototyping for Virtual Reality

The off-the-shelf virtual reality community is well aware of the wide variety of inexpensive and robust tracking and display technologies that have emerged in the marketplace in recent years. However, there has also been a vast improvement in the accessibility and usability of hobbyist-grade electronics components, which make incorporating lower-level sensing and actuation components into virtu...

An Overview of Souk Nets: A Component-Based Paradigm for Data Source Integration

Construction of complex software systems with largely off-the-shelf components has become a reality with the wide availability and acceptance of component frameworks and distributed object systems. Component-based frameworks tailored specifically for the domain of database integration are lacking, however. To use an existing component framework, data integrators must construct custom components...

Open Source Collaboration for Fostering Off-The-Shelf Components Selection

The use of Off-The-Shelf software components in ComponentBased Development implies many challenges. One of them is the lack of available and well-suited data to support selection of suitable OTS components. This paper proposes a feasible and incremental way to federate and reuse the different efforts for finding, selecting, and maintaining OTS components in a structured way. This is done not on...

MATLAB COM Integration for Engineering Applications

The most powerful idea around component-based software, is that components can be implemented by a programmer and reused by others without having knowledge of the source code. Components are binary packages that can be deployed and further integrated with others written on different programming languages. As component selection and integration is usually an easy and well-known process, componen...
