Relationship between hyperchloremia in braindead donors and delayed graft function in the kidney allograft recipients.

چکیده
Introduction In the brain-dead organ donors a number of hormonal changes occurs, reflecting anterior and posterior pituitary failure. There is an early development of diabetes insipidus in almost 80% of brain-dead organ donors, characterized by inappropriate diuresis, severe hypovolemia, hyperosmolality, and electrolyte abnormalities, such as hypernatremia and hyperchloremia. Hypernatremia and hyperchloremia is often aggravated by infusions of large volumes of sodium and chloride-containing solutions, as a part of the therapy of intracranial hypertension.

Background and Purpose: Hospital readmission after kidney transplantation is a real challenge for both patients and healthcare systems. Assessment of the risk factors of readmission after kidney transplantation is vital and can reduce morbidity and cost in transplant recipients and donors. The aim of the current study was to determine the risk factors of hospital readmission in patients undergo...
متن کاملRole of Donors and Recipients' Glutathione S-Transferase Gene Polymorphisms in Association of Oxidative Stress With Delayed Graft Function in Kidney Allograft Recipients.
INTRODUCTION Oxidative stress contributes to delayed graft function (DGF). Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) are polymorphic genes which produce enzymes with protective effect against oxidative stress. This study aimed to investigate the association between donors' and recipients' GSTM1 and GSTT1 polymorphisms and DGF, creatinine clearance, and oxidative stress parameters in kidney allograft re...

Background: While excellent organ quality and ideal transplant conditions eliminate many of the known factors that compromise initial graft function (IGF), slow graft function (SGF), still occurs after living donor kidney transplantation (LDKT). The aim of our current study is determination SGF frequency and its risk factors in LDKT Methods: In this prospective study, between April 2004 and Mar...

Background & Aims: Diagnosis of poor graft function by modern biomarkers is a step to early detection of injuries to the kidneys. Therefore, in this study, serum NGAL was evaluated in renal transplant recipients and compared with creatinine and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) using CKD-Epi equation. Materials & Methods: This case-control study was performed at Imam Khomeini Teaching Hospital,...
