چکیده

, TETANUS toxin is fixed by the grey matter of nervous tissue (WASSERMA. .:N and TAKcAIKI, 1898; FULTHORPE, 1956; VAN HEYNINGEN, 1959a). JANOFF (1964) has recently reported evidence of selective fixation of the toxin by subcellular fractions of rabbit brain homogenate spun down between 800 g x 10 min and 17,000 & x 20 min (mitochondria and lysosomes) and between 17,000 g x 10 nin and 100,000 g x 60 min (microsomes). The present work confirms that toxin-fixing capacity can be recovered in the fractions sedimenting in these ranges, but the data suggest that it

Dynamics of alaninaminotransferase activity in subcellular fractions of different areas of brain cortex and hypothalamus in postnatal ontogenesis under protein-free feeding regime and after its withdrawal

Total and specific activities of alaninaminotransferase (Al-AT) were determined in general tissues, mitochondrial and cytosol fractions of visual, orbital, motor, limbic areas of brain cortex and hypothalamus of three-month old and one-year old rats under 10-20 days and 30 days protein deprivation and under recovery of normal food regime during the same terms. It was found out that Al-AT activi...

The distribution of gangliosides in subcellular fractions of guinea-pig cerebral cortex.

Gangliosides are acidic, acid-sensitive, nondialysable, water-soluble lipids containing Nacetylneuraminic acid, hexosamine, hexoses and ceramides which in the brain occur mainly in grey matter. The aim of the present investigation was to study the localization of gangliosides in the cerebral cortex by following their distribution in subcellular fractions, neuraminic acid content being used as m...

Cloning and expression of tetanus toxin C fragment (Fc) in prokaryotic vector for constructing recombinant protein based vaccine for tetanus

Tetanus is a disease caused by tetanus toxin, a potent inhibitor for the release of inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system that causes spastic paralysis. Fragment C (52 kD) of this toxin is responsible for binding to the neuronal membrane. For this reason, and also its non toxigenic and immunogenic nature, this fragment might be ideal for new vaccine development. Presently, w...

ایجاد یک روش نوین آزمایشگاهی الایزا توبی (ToBi Assay) برای تعیین پوتنسی واکسن بومی توکسوییدی کزاز درایران

Background: One of the major uses of large number of laboratory animals in manufacturing the vaccines is the quality control testing of vaccines, particularly potency testing of vaccines containing the tetanus toxoids by either lethal challenge or serum neutralization tests. Recently, because of various difficulties to obtain quality laboratory animals and in adequate environmental conditions, ...
