Anomalous Magnetic Properties of Sr2YRuO6
نویسنده
چکیده
Anomalous magnetic properties of the double perovskite ruthenate compound Sr2YRuO6 are reported here. Magnetization measurements as a function of temperature in low magnetic fields show clear evidence for two components of magnetic order (TM1 ∼ 32 K and TM2 ∼ 27 K) aligned opposite to each other with respect to the magnetic field direction even though only Ru5+ moments can order magnetically in this compound. The second component of the magnetic order at TM2 ∼ 27 K results only in a magnetization reversal, and not in the negative magnetization when the magnetization is measured in the field cooled (FC) mode. Isothermal magnetization (M -H) measurements show hysteresis with maximum coercivity (Hc) and remnant magnetization (Mr) at T ∼27 K, corroborating the presence of the two oppositely aligned magnetic moments, each with a ferromagnetic component. The two components of magnetic ordering are further confirmed by the double peak structure in the heat capacity measurements. These anomalous properties have significance to some of the earlier results obtained for the Cu-substituted superconducting Sr2YRu1−xCuxO6 compounds. 1 ar X iv :0 80 2. 29 53 v1 [ co nd -m at .s tr -e l] 2 0 Fe b 20 08

A Mössbauer effect study, as the main key to the investigation of anomalous magnetic properties of MnZn nanoferrite
In this research, a low temperature in-field 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy is used for investigation of anomalous magnetic properties of MnZn nanoferrite. Based on Mössbauer spectroscopy results, the reduced saturation magnetization of MnZn nanoferrite in respect to that of bulk sample is due to nonequilibrium cation distribution and spin disorder. The enhanced Curie temperature of MnZn nanofer...

The recently discovered MgB2 superconductors have a record transition temperature for a BCS superconductor due to the high vibration frequencies associated with its light elements. The transition temperatures in the cuprate family of superconductors are much higher but these do not fit the BCS paradigm. The most promising microscopic origin for their many anomalous properties lies in magnetic...
متن کاملNon-Relativistic Limit of Neutron Beta-Decay Cross-Section in the Presence of Strong Magnetic Field
One of the most important reactions of the URCA that lead to the cooling of a neutron star, is neutron beta-decay ( ). In this research, the energy spectra and wave functions of massive fermions taking into account the Anomalous Magnetic Moment (AMM) in the presence of a strong changed magnetic field are calculated. For this purpose, the Dirac-Pauli equation for charged and neutral fermions is ...

Layered and pseudocubic Ru-based perovskites have been the subject of considerable recent attention, due to their unusual magnetic properties and the discovery of superconductivity in one member of the family, Sr2RuO4. From a magnetic point of view, interest derives from the stable ferromagnetism in SrRuO3, gradually disappearing to a non-magnetic phase upon substituting Sr with isovalent Ca, a...

In this research, nanocrystalline Co-Fe coatings were electrodeposited on copper substrate. The influence of current density on different properties of the films at two pH levels was investigated. All the coatings showed nodular structure with rougher morphology at higher current densities. Due to anomalous deposition at higher current density, the amount of iron content increased and reached i...
