Normal Multi-scale Transforms for Surfaces

چکیده

We prove well-posedness, convergence, and detail decay estimates for the normal triangular mesh multi-scale transform for C surfaces in the simplest case when the subdivision rule S used for base point prediction is given by edge midpoint insertion. A restrictive assumption is that the initial triangular mesh needs to be quasi-regular and of small enough mesh-size. We also provide numerical evidence with other S for dyadic refinement (Butterfly, Loop), and propose a modification of the normal scheme resulting in improved detail decay for smooth surfaces.

Normal Multi-scale Transforms for Curves

Extending upon [5, 15], we provide the theoretical analysis of normal multi-scale transforms for curves with general linear predictor S, and a more flexible choice of normal directions. The main parameters influencing the asymptotic properties (convergence, decay estimates for detail coefficients, smoothness of normal re-parametrization) of this transform are the smoothness of the curve, the sm...

One Pot Chemically Attachment of Amino Groups on Multi walled Carbon Nanotubes Surfaces

Functionalization of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with NH2 groups under a one pot reaction is studied. During the first step of the reaction, Cl and CHCl2 groups were attached to the surfaces of MWCNTs through an electrophilic addition reaction. In the second step of process, Cl atoms were replaced with NH2 and amino groups (ethylene diamine and but...

Phase transition of the dry friction between crystalline surfaces induced by normal load

A major source of energy dissipation and surface wear is the kinetic friction at the interfaces of sliding bodies. Traditionally, on a macroscopic scale, this undesirable effect is reduced with lubricating the surfaces by introducing oil into their interface. An interesting phenomenon, called superlubricity, has been reported on a nanometer scale where dry (without lubricant oil) fruition and w...

Quantum Haar Wavelet Transforms and Their Applications

Fourier transform has been shown to be a powerful tool in many area of science. However, there is another class of unitary transforms, the wavelet transforms, which are as useful as the Fourier transform. Wavelet transforms are used to expose the multi-scale structure of a signal and very useful for image processing and data compression. In this paper, we construct quantum algorithms for Haar w...

Nonlinear Subdivision Schemes and Multi-Scale Transforms

Over the past 25 years, fast multi-scale algorithms such as wavelet-type pyramid transforms for hierarchical data representation, multi-grid solvers for the numerical solution of operator equations, and subdivision methods in computer-aided geometric design lead to tremendous successes in data and geometry processing, and in scientific computing in general. While linear multi-scale analysis is ...
