MaTeLo – Statistical Testing Using Annotated Sequence Diagrams, Markov Chains and TTCN-3
نویسنده
چکیده
In this report, we present a general framework for testing timecritical systems and software as it is proposed in the European IST project MaTeLo. The main task is to derive TTCN-3 compatible test case descriptions starting from annotated sequence diagrams, which specify additional non-functional requirements. In our methodology we combine statistical usage testing based on Markov chain usage models and specification-based monitoring using formal description techniques and sequence diagrams, defined in international standards, i.e. ITU-T MSC-2000 or OMG/UML.

How to Use XML Descriptions for Generating Markov Chain Usage Models
In this report, we give an overview how to use XML based techniques in order to derive language independent Markov Chain Usage Models [1] given any popular FDT (Formal Description Techniques), such as MSC (Message Sequence Charts, ITU-T standard Z.120) and UML/SD (Unified Modeling Language/Sequence Diagram, OMG Standard). In particular, we demonstrate and discuss the tool chain JUMBL (J Usage M...
متن کاملEvaluation of First and Second Markov Chains Sensitivity and Specificity as Statistical Approach for Prediction of Sequences of Genes in Virus Double Strand DNA Genomes
Growing amount of information on biological sequences has made application of statistical approaches necessary for modeling and estimation of their functions. In this paper, sensitivity and specificity of the first and second Markov chains for prediction of genes was evaluated using the complete double stranded DNA virus. There were two approaches for prediction of each Markov Model parameter,...
متن کاملUML-based test specification for communication systems: a methodology for the use of MSC and IDL in testing
Nowadays, the complexity of modern telecommunication systems has increased significantly and the requirement for thorough and systematic testing is undisputed. The Testing and Test Control Notation (version 3) (TTCN-3) is an universal and standardised language for the specification and implementation of tests for communication systems. Many systems and in particular object-oriented systems are ...
متن کاملTTCN-3 Test Case Generation from Message Sequence Charts
Scenario-based testing, manual as automatic, is applicable for black-box and specific white-box testing for communication protocols and distributed systems. UML models provide scenario descriptions by sequence diagrams respectively MSCs. Thus, the combination of TTCN-3, as test description language, and UML by MSC to specify and automatically generate test cases has to be considered. The work i...
متن کاملEmpirical Bayes Estimation in Nonstationary Markov chains
Estimation procedures for nonstationary Markov chains appear to be relatively sparse. This work introduces empirical Bayes estimators for the transition probability matrix of a finite nonstationary Markov chain. The data are assumed to be of a panel study type in which each data set consists of a sequence of observations on N>=2 independent and identically dis...
