The effects of PN sequences on the misconvergence of the constant modulus algorithm (CMA)
نویسندگان
چکیده
The constant modulus algorithm (CMA) can misconverge when the received two-dimensional (2-D) signal is derived from encoding a binary PN sequence. The distortion of the probabilistic symmetry of the transmitted constellation can be controlled by careful selection of the underlying binary PN sequence, thereby influencing the convergence behavior of CMA.

Blind Equalization Technique for Cross Correlation Constant Modulus Algorithm (CC-CMA)
Equalization plays an important role for the communication system receiver to correctly recover the symbol send by the transmitter, where the received signals may contain additive noise and intersymbol interference (ISI). Blind equalization is a technique of many equalization techniques at which the transmitted symbols over a communication channel can be recovered without the aid of training se...
متن کاملA High Performance Blind Adaptive Filtering Algorithm
Recently a dithered signed-error constant modulus algorithm (DSE-CMA) has been proposed for the purpose of low complexity implementation of constant modulus algorithm (CMA), which is widely used for blind adaptive filtering due to its LMS-like desirable robustness properties. Despite the fact that this algorithm has robustness properties closely resembling those of CMA, it is very slow in conve...
متن کاملBlind Equalization Schemes with Different Error Equations
A general problem with blind adaptation techniques is that they have poor convergence properties compared to the traditional techniques using training sequences. Having a multi-modal cost surface, blind adaptation techniques may force the equalizer to converge to a false minimum, depending on the initialization. The most commonly used blind adaptation algorithm is the Constant Modulus Algorithm...
متن کاملThe dithered signed-error constant modulus algorithm
Adaptive blind equalization has gained widespread use in communication systems that operate without training signals. In particular, the Constant Modulus Algorithm (CMA) has become a favorite of practitioners due to its LMS-like complexity and desirable robustness properties. The desire for further reduction in computational complexity has motivated signed-error versions of CMA, which have been...
متن کاملBlind Equalisation of High-Order QAM Channels Using a Fuzzy-Logic Tuned Constant Modulus Algorithm and Soft Decision-Directed Scheme
We consider blind equalisation for high-order quadrature amplitude modulation channels using a lowcomplexity high-performance concurrent constant modulus algorithm (CMA) and soft decision-directed (SDD) scheme. Instead of using a constant step size, we design a fuzzy-logic (FL) tuning unit to adjust the step size of the CMA. Simulation investigation confirms that faster convergence can be achie...
