Digital Art Forensics
نویسندگان
چکیده
We describe a computational technique for digitally authenticating works of art. This approach builds statistical models of an artist from a set of authenticated works. Additional works are then authenticated against this model. The statistical model consists of firstand higher-order wavelet statistics. We show preliminary results from our analysis of thirteen drawings by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. We also present preliminary results showing how these techniques may be applicable to determining how many hands contributed to a single painting.

A State-of-the-Art Review of Cloud Forensics
Cloud computing and digital forensics are emerging fields of technology. Unlike traditional digital forensics where the target environment can be almost completely isolated, acquired and can be under the investigators control; in cloud environments, the distribution of computation and storage poses unique and complex challenges to the investigators. Recently, the term “cloud forensics” has an i...

Digital archivists and traditional digital forensics practitioners have significant points of convergence as well as notable differences between their work. This paper provides an overviewof howdigital archivists use digital forensics tools and techniques to approach their work, comparing and contrasting archival with traditional computer forensics. Archives encounter a wide range of digital ma...
متن کاملCounter-Forensics: Attacking Image Forensics
This chapter discusses counter-forensics, the art and science of impeding or misleading forensic analyses of digital images. Research on counter-forensics is motivated by the need to assess and improve the reliability of forensic methods in situations where intelligent adversaries make efforts to induce a certain outcome of forensic analyses. Counter-forensics is first defined in a formal decis...

متن کاملTowards a Formalization of Digital Forensics
While some individuals have referred to digital forensics as an art, the literature of the discipline suggests a trend toward the formalization of digital forensics as a forensic science. Questions about the quality of digital evidence and forensic soundness continue to be raised by researchers and practitioners in order to ensure the trustworthiness of digital evidence and its value to the cou...
متن کاملMemory forensics: The path forward
Traditionally, digital forensics focused on artifacts located on the storage devices of computer systems, mobile phones, digital cameras, and other electronic devices. In the past decade, however, researchers have created a number of powerful memory forensics tools that expand the scope of digital forensics to include the examination of volatile memory as well. While memory forensic techniques ...
