Stochastic Disoriented Chiral Condensates
نویسنده
چکیده
Applying a Langevin description of the linear sigma model we investigate four different scenarios for the evolution of a disoriented chiral condensate: annealing or quench with initial conditions governed by effective ‘light’ or physical mass pions. We present pion number distributions estimated from the zero mode (i.e. k = 0-field) component. The best DCC signal is expected for the quench scenario with initial conditions centered around 〈σ〉 ≈ 0 as would be the case of effective light ‘pions’ close to the phase transition. Our investigations support the idea of looking for DCC formation in individual events.

Out-of-equilibrium Photon Production from Disoriented Chiral Condensates
We study the production of photons through the non-equilibrium relaxation of a disoriented chiral condensate. We propose that to search for nonequilibrium photons in the direct photon measurements of heavy-ion collisions can be a potential test of the formation of disoriented chiral condensates. I discuss several topics in the applications of chiral symmetry at nonzero temperature. First, where does the rho go? The answer: up. The restoration of chiral symmetry at a temperature T implies that the and a 1 vector mesons are degenerate in mass. In a gauged linear sigma model the mass increases with temperature, m (T) > m (0). I conjecture that at T the thermal ? a 1 peak is relatively hig...
متن کاملΦ-measure and Disoriented chiral condensates
Fluctuations in the ratio of neutral to charged pions arising due to formation of disoriented chiral condensates (DCC) are discussed using the Φ-measure. The properties of the measure for various cases of DCC and non-DCC are discussed. The effect of detector efficiencies and other experimental factors are presented. Application of the Φ-measure to simulated data, within the context of a simple ...
