Using Newton’s Method to Search for Quasi-Periodic Relative Satellite Motion Based on Nonlinear Hamiltonian Models

چکیده
In this paper, the monodromy variant of Newton’s method is applied to locate periodic or quasi-periodic relative satellite motion. Advantages of using Newton’s method to search for periodic or quasi-periodic relative satellite motion include simplicity of implementation, ability to deal with nonlinear dynamics, repeatability of the solutions due to its non-random nature, and fast convergence. A nonlinear Hamiltonian model is derived which incorporates eccentricity of the reference orbit, nonlinear gravitational terms and the J2 perturbation. Closed-loop control of relative satellite motion is simulated with the aid of a discrete LQR controller with impulsive actuation.

Nonlinear Dynamics of the Rotational Slender Axially Moving String with Simply Supported Conditions
In this research, dynamic analysis of the rotational slender axially moving string is investigated. String assumed as Euler Bernoulli beam. The axial motion of the string, gyroscopic force and mass eccentricity were considered in the study. Equations of motion are derived using Hamilton’s principle, resulting in two partial differential equations for the transverse motions. The equations are ch...
متن کاملA Software for Prediction of Periodic Response of Non-linear Multi Degree of Freedom Rotors Based on Harmonic Balances
It is the purpose of this paper to introduce a computer software that is developed for the analysis of general multi degree of freedom rotor bearing systems with non-linear support elements. A numerical-analytical method for the prediction of steady state periodic response of large order nonlinear rotor dynamic systems is addressed which is based on the harmonic balance technique. By utilizing ...
متن کاملNumerical Search of Bounded Relative Satellite Motion
Relative motion between two or more satellites has been studied for a long time, as the works of W.H. Clohessy and R.S. Wiltshire, dated 1960, or the studies of J. Tschauner, dated 1967, can testify. Not only these early works are milestones for the relative motion modelling, as they provide linear models whose accuracy in terms of motion prediction is granted in the simplified assumption of pu...
متن کاملCombination Resonance of Nonlinear Rotating Balanced Shafts Subjected to Periodic Axial Load
Dynamic behavior of a circular shaft with geometrical nonlinearity and constant spin, subjected to periodic axial load is investigated. The case of parametric combination resonance is studied. Extension of shaft center line is the source of nonlinearity. The shaft has gyroscopic effect and rotary inertia but shear deformation is neglected. The equations of motion are derived by extended Hamilto...
متن کاملComparison between linear and nonlinear models for surge motion of TLP
Tension-Leg Platform (TLP) is a vertically moored floating structure. The platform is permanently mooredby tendons. Surge equation of motion of TLP is highly nonlinear because of large displacement and it should be solved with perturbation parameter in time domain. This paper compare the dynamic motion responses of a TLP in regular sea waves obtained by applying three method in time domain usin...
