Identification and Functional Prediction of Long Non-Coding RNAs Responsive to Drought stress in Lens culinaris L.

Drought stress is one of the main environmental factors that affects growth and productivity of crop plants, including lentil. In the course of evolution evolution, crucial genetic regulations mediated by non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) have emerged in plant in response to drought and other abiotic stresses. In the present study, after identifying lncRNAs within the expression profile of lentil, RNA-s...

Integrated Process Planning and Active Scheduling in a Supply Chain-A Learnable Architecture Approach

Through the lens of supply chain management, integrating process planning decisions and scheduling plans becomes an issue of great challenge and importance. Dealing with the problem paves the way to devising operation schedules with minimum makespan; considering the flexible process sequences, it can be viewed as a fundamental tool for achieving the scheme, too. To deal with this integration, t...

A complex enhancer of the chicken beta A3/A1-crystallin gene depends on an AP-1-CRE element for activity.

PURPOSE To define transcriptional regulatory elements of the chicken beta A3/A1-crystallin gene. METHODS Reporter genes were made with fragments of the chicken beta A3/A1-crystallin gene fused to the bacterial gene encoding chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (CAT). The reporter plasmids were transfected into primary cultures of chicken-patched lens epithelium or fibroblast cells, and the CAT a...

Lens proteomics: analysis of rat crystallin sequences and two-dimensional electrophoresis map.

PURPOSE To determine the sequence of four rat beta-crystallins, confirm the sequences by mass spectrometry, and produce a two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) map of soluble crystallins in young rat lens. METHODS New or additional sequences were determined for betaB1, betaB3, betaA3, and betaA4-crystallin cDNAs from Sprague-Dawley rats, and the deduced protein sequences confirmed by mass sp...

Isolation of a family of resistance gene analogue sequences of the nucleotide binding site (NBS) type from Lens species.

Most known plant disease-resistance genes (R genes) include in their encoded products domains such as a nucleotide-binding site (NBS) or leucine-rich repeats (LRRs). Sequences with unknown function, but encoding these conserved domains, have been defined as resistance gene analogues (RGAs). The conserved motifs within plant NBS domains make it possible to use degenerate primers and PCR to isola...
