چکیده

Applications of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) require long system lifetime, and efficient energy usage ([75], [76], [7]). Moreover, applications can fulfill their requirements if communication through the network is reliable. This is because the nature of the communication channel used for sensor data transmission is erroneous due to the presence of thermal noise, interference from outside the network, and interference due to large scale and small scale fading components arising from multipath propagation. The reliability of the communication link generally depends on the Bit Error Rate (BER). This greatly affects network performance in terms of throughput, delay, and energy [77], [78].
