چکیده

The variable generalised stochastic epidemicmodel, which allows for variability in both the susceptibilities and infectivities of individuals, is analysed. A very different epidemic modelwhich exhibits variable susceptibility and infectivity is the random-graph epidemic model. A suitable coupling of the two epidemic models is derived which enables us to show that, whilst the epidemics are very different in appearance, they have the same asymptotic final size distribution. The coupling provides a novel approach to studying random-graph epidemic models.

Coupling of Two SIR Epidemic Models with Variable Susceptibility and Infectivity

The variable generalised stochastic epidemic (VGSE) model which allows for variability in both the susceptibility and infectivity of individuals is analysed. A very different epidemic model which exhibits variable susceptibility and infectivity is the random graph epidemic model. A suitable coupling of the two epidemic models is derived, which enables us to show that, whilst the epidemics are v...

Dynamics of a Delayed Epidemic Model with Beddington-DeAngelis ‎Incidence Rate and a Constant Infectious Period

In this paper, an SIR epidemic model with an infectious period and a non-linear Beddington-DeAngelis type incidence rate function is considered. The dynamics of this model depend on the reproduction number R0. Accurately, if R0 < 1, we show the global asymptotic stability of the disease-free equilibrium by analyzing the corresponding characteristic equation and using compa...

Constructions of Lyapunov Functions for Classic SIS, SIR and SIRS Epidemic models with Variable Population Size

In this work we deal with global stability properties of classic SIS, SIR and SIRS epidemic models with constant recruitment rate, mass action incidence and variable population size. The usual approach to determine global stability of equilibria is the direct Lyapunov method which requires the construction of a function with specific properties. In this work we construct different Lyapunov func...

Global stability of a DS-DI epidemic model with age of infection

A model with differential susceptibility, differential infectivity (DS-DI), and age of infection is formulated in this paper. The susceptibles are divided into n groups according to their susceptibilities. The infectives are divided into m groups according to their infectivities. The total population size is assumed constant. Formula for the reproductive number is derived so that if the reprodu...

Modeling and analysis of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic using the classical SIR model

In this paper modeling, analysis and prediction of novel epidemic of COVID-19 are concerned to identify effective spread parameters of it in Iran. For this purpose, the basic susceptible-infected-removed (SIR) model is used which has two parameters: the infection rate and remove rate. The occurrence of several maximum points in the Iranian data and the single peak of the SIR model makes it impo...
