چکیده
Homogeneous suspensions of streptomycete spores were desirable for plating after mutagenesis. Filtration through 8-mum membrane filters (Millipore Corp.) more effectively separated hyphae and spore clumps from single spores than did filtration through cotton wefts or paper.

Development of PCR method for diagnosing of honey bee American Foulbrood disease
American foulbrood (AFB) disease is caused by the sporeforming bacterium Paenibacillus larvae larvae. Traditional diagnosis is based on culture technique is time and laboratory work consuming. In this study with standard strain, PCR was developed by specific primers and PCR products were electrophoresed on 0.8 % agarose gel. The PCR primers were selected on the basis of the 16S rRNA gene and am...
متن کاملMethod for Obtaining Cleaned Putrefactive Anaerobe 3679 Spores.
Sporulating clostridial suspensions tend to recycle through subsequent phases such as germination, outgrowth, and further multiplication. The result is a mixture of vegetative cells and of spores at various developmental stages. Recently, activated-culture techniques have been used to achieve almost complete sporulation in semisynchronized populations of several clostridia (Collier, 1). 10, in ...
متن کاملAssessment of Potential for Biological Control of Botrytis cinerea by an Indigenous Trichoderma harzianum Isolate with a Novel Detached Leaf-droplet Inoculation Bioassay and Correlated Increase in Phytoalexin Production
A simple detached leaf-droplet inoculation bioassay was devised in order to investigate the potential for biological control of Botrytis cinerea by indigenous Trichoderma harzianum isolates. Following preliminary in vitro screening of the antagonistic capacity of four local isolates of Trichoderma harzianum (T1-T4) against B. cinerea, T3 spore suspensions were then tested for their ability to c...
متن کاملHybridization and Selection of Saccharomyces cerevisiae Strains from Industrial Baker’s Yeasts
Hybridization study of two Saccharomyces cerevisiae baker’s yeast strains isolated in Thailand, IFRPD 6080 and IFRPD 6081, was carried out. Rare-mating technique has been employed with haploid and diploid mating strains of Japanese baker’s yeast. Polyploid (triploid and tetraploid) hybrids produced from rare-mating were selected and induced for sporulation. Screening of segregants obtained from...
متن کاملHomogenous bacterial aerosols produced with a spinning-disc generator.
Aerosols composed of viable particles of a uniform size were produced with a commercial spinning-disc generator from aqueous suspensions of Bacillus subtilis var. niger spores containing various amounts of an inert material, dextran, to regulate aerosol particle size. Aerosols composed of single naked spores having an equivalent spherical diameter of 0.87 mum were produced from spore suspension...
