Cross-sectional echocardiographic analysis of the extent of left ventricular asynergy in acute myocardial infarction.

چکیده
Cross-sectional echocardiography was used to study left ventricular wall motion in 44 patients with myocardial infarction, and the extent of observed asynergy was correlated with left ventricular function. Echocardiographic studies were performed in short and long axes of the ventricle and nine segments were identified for analysis. Wall motion in each segment was classified as normal, hyperkinetic, hypokinetic, akinetic

Cross-sectional echocardiography in acute myocardial infarction: detection and localization of regional left ventricular asynergy.
Left ventricular asynergy associated with acute myocardial infarction was evaluated by crosssectional echocardiography. Patients with acute infarction were studied within 48 hours of admission, and a segmental analysis of left ventricular wall motion was performed using nine segments obtained by shortand long-axis recordings of the left ventricle. By this segmental approach, analysis of wall mo...
متن کاملClinicopathological study in an ovine model of experimental acute myocardial infarction
To evaluate the prognostic significance of clinicopathological measurement in the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (MI) in sheep, acute MI was induced by ligation of left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD). For this purpose, twenty four healthy sheep were divided into the sham-operated or control group (group I, thoracotomy without MI) and the experimental group (group II, with M...
متن کاملMyocardial damage of the entire ventricular region in a patient with acute myocardial infarction
Technetium-99m-pyrophosphate (99mTc-PYP) has been used, in combination with thallium-201, to estimate the site and extent of myocardial infarcts. We report a case of acute myocardial infarction with severe coronary disease in which the distribution of 99mTc-PYP was extensive. A 78-year-old man presented with dyspnea, and a diagnosis of non-ST-segment elevation acute myocar...
متن کاملEchoventriculographic detection, localization, and quantification of left ventricular asynergy in acute myocardial infarction. A correlative echo- and electrocardiographic study.
"Echoventriculography", an echocardiographic method specially developed to scan the regional function of the left ventricle, is introduced for studying left ventricular wall motion alteration in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Purposeful probe directions, a 2:1 magnification, and careful adjustment of the gain and reject levels allowed a direct echocardiographic scanning of practical...
متن کاملEchocardiographic assessment of myocardial infarction: comparison of a rat model in two strains
The purpose of this study was to induce myocardial infarction (MI) and compare the echocardiographic parameters and mortality ratio of Lewis inbred and Wistar outbred strain before and after the procedure to help choose the best one for MI studies. In this study MI was induced in 46 Lewis and 34 Wistar by occlusion of left anterior descending artery (LAD). Doppler, two-dimensional (2-D) and 2-D...
