Two - way ANOVA

چکیده

Last week we learned about one-way designs. They examine several levels of a single factor. For instance, we might examine the effect of StudyType (independent variable) on LanguagePerformance (dependent variable). Classroom study Self-study Control Perhaps we think that the StudyType manipulation might only affect one gender or the other. We could do a two-way design whether a second factor, Gender. Classroom study Self-study Control female male Factorial design In factorial design the dependent variable (score on the Cambridge English Proficiency test) is sampled in every possible combination of the factors. That is, each test score is cross-classified as coming from someone who is e.g. Female AND European or Male AND Southeast Asian etc.

Topic Set Size Design with Variance Estimates from Two-Way ANOVA

Recently, Sakai proposed two methods for determining the topic set size n for a new test collection based on variance estimates from past data: the first method determines the minimum n to ensure high statistical power [22], while the second method determines the minimum n to ensure tight confidence invervals [23]. These methods are based on statistical techniques described by Nagata [15]. Whil...

Comparing two testing procedures in unbalanced two-way ANOVA models under heteroscedasticity‎: Approximate degree of freedom and parametric bootstrap approach

‎The classic F-test is usually used for testing the effects of factors in homoscedastic two-way ANOVA models‎. ‎However‎, ‎the assumption of equal cell variances is usually violated in practice‎. ‎In recent years‎, ‎several test procedures have been proposed for testing the effects of factors‎. ‎In this paper‎, ‎the two methods that are approximate degree of freedom (ADF) and parametric bootstr...

Modiications of the Bonferroni{holm Procedure for a Multi{way Anova

This paper aims at constructing stepwise test procedures based on the Bonferroni{ Holm principle for a multi{way ANOVA. Especially for the two{way ANOVA it is shown, that the procedures keep the multiple level. These theoretical results are supplemented by a simulation study to compare the multiple procedures regarding two power concepts and to learn about which of the introduced procedures is ...

Comparison of ICC and CCC for assessing agreement for data without and with replications

The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) has been traditionally used for assessing reliability between multiple observers for data with or without replications. Definitions of different versions of ICCs depend on the assumptions of specific ANOVA models. The parameter estimator for the ICC is usually based on the method of moments with the underlying assumed ANOVA model. This estimator is c...
