چکیده

Self-healing software is one of the challenges issues for IST research. The WS-Diamond project aims at making a step in this direction by developing a framework for self-healing Web Services. In this paper, we present the overall goals of the project, namely: i) defining an operational framework for self-healing service execution of conversationally complex Web Services, where monitoring, detection and diagnosis of anomalous situations, due to functional or non-functional errors (e.g., Quality of Service), are carried on and repair/reconfiguration is performed, thus guaranteeing reliability and availability of Web Services; and ii) defining a methodology and tools for service design that guarantee effective and efficient diagnosability/reparability during execution. Then the paper illustrates an application scenario showing principles of model-based diagnosis, and composed Web Service repair scenarios. An overall presentation of the architecture is given.

Monitoring WS-CDL-based choreographies of Web Services

Self-healing software, and especially self-healing web services, is one of the challenging tasks for a next future. This paper is a step in this direction, insofar as it describes a framework for monitoring and diagnosing web services. One of the main difficulties is that faults may propagate from one service to another, which makes the diagnosis a crucial issue in order to react properly. We p...

A procedure for Web Service Selection Using WS-Policy Semantic Matching

In general, Policy-based approaches play an important role in the management of web services, for instance, in the choice of semantic web service and quality of services (QoS) in particular. The present research work illustrates a procedure for the web service selection among functionality similar web services based on WS-Policy semantic matching. In this study, the procedure of WS-Policy publi...

Providing Predictive Self-Healing for Web Services: A QoS Monitoring and Analysis-based Approach

Monitoring and analysis of QoS are crucial steps for the provisioning of self-healing web services and for managing web service-based distributed interactive applications. Dealing with these issues becomes even more challenging when applications are dynamically built by composition of distributed services involving different service providers. In this case, assuming access to the internal logic...

Web Service Choreography Verification Using Z Formal Specification

Web Service Choreography Description Language (WS-CDL) describes and orchestrates the services interactions among multiple participants. WS-CDL verification is essential since the interactions would lead to mismatches. Existing works verify the messages ordering, the flow of messages, and the expected results from collaborations. In this paper, we present a Z specification of WS-CDL. Besides ve...

A Chronicle-based Diagnosability Approach for Discrete Timed-event Systems: Application to Web-Services

This paper addresses the problem of diagnosability analysis in Web Services. In particular, it focuses on the analysis of the impact of time to the diagnostic capabilities in Web Service workflows. The diagnosability analysis that is proposed in this paper aims at determining the diagnostic capabilities of a previously developped algorithm for the diagnosis of Web Services. This diagnostic algo...
