The Deep Optical Imaging of the Extended Groth Strip
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present ugR optical images taken with the MMT/Megacam and the Subaru/Suprime of the Extended Groth Strip survey. The total survey covers an area of about ∼ 1 degree, including four sub-fields and is optimized for the study of galaxies at z ∼ 3. Our methods for photometric calibration in AB magnitudes, the limiting magnitude and the galaxy number count are described. A sample of 1642 photometrically selected candidate LBGs to an apparent RAB magnitude limit of 25.0 is present. The average sky surface density of our LBGs sample is ∼ 1.0 arcmin, slightly higher than the previous finding.

The properties of 70μm-selected high-redshift galaxies in the Extended Groth Strip
We examine the infrared properties of 43 high redshift (0.1< z< 1.2), infraredluminous galaxies in the Extended Groth Strip (EGS), selected by a deep 70μm survey with the Multiband Imaging Photometer on Spitzer (MIPS). In addition and with reference to starburst-type Spectral Energy Distributions (SEDs), we derive a set of equations for estimating the total infrared luminosity (LIR) in the rang...

The Deep Extragalactic Exploratory Probe (DEEP) is a multi-phase research program dedicated to the study of the formation and evolution of galaxies and of large scale structure in the distant Universe. This paper describes the first five-year phase, denoted DEEP1. A series of ten DEEP1 papers will discuss a range of scientific topics (e.g., the study of photometric and spectral properties of a ...
متن کاملXMM-Newton View of the Hubble Deep Field-North and Groth-Westphal Strip Regions
We report the progress on our analysis of two deep XMM observations in the areas of Hubble Deep Field-North and the Groth-Westphal Strip field. We present the source detection method, Monte-Carlo simulation on source detection, and our preliminary Log N – Log S relations. Comparing these two fields and other fields in literature, we find up to ∼ 30% variations in number counts near our flux lim...
متن کاملEngineering of core/shell nanoparticles surface plasmon for increasing of light penetration depth in tissue (modeling and analysis)
Objectives: In this article, a new procedure for increasing the light penetration depth in a tissue is studied and simulated. It has been reported that the most important problem in biomedical optical imaging relates to the light penetration depth, and so this makes a dramatic restriction on its applications. In the optical imaging method, the detection of the backscattered pho...

Since the discovery of X-rays, the use of imaging technology has continued to play an important role in medicine. Technological advancements have led to the development of various imaging modalities, most of which have been used to image organs deep within the human body. More recently, attention has focused on the application of imaging technology for evaluation of the skin. A variety of techn...
