Development of Personal Authentication System using Fingerprint with Digital Signature Technologies
1 Abstract Authentication based on biometrics is being applied to control physical access to high-security facilities. Recently, with the recent rapid growth of information system technologies, applications for accessing databases or business workflow systems have begun to use biometrics. These applications need to implement measures to counter threats to security. In the case of authentication...
متن کاملSecure Authentication in Group Communications Using Media Access Control (MAC) Address
We propose adding users’ Media Access Control (MAC) addresses to standard X.509 certificates to provide more secure authentication. Recent patents demonstrate efforts on a X.509 certificate by adding security features in order to establish secure communications. The MAC address can be added by the issuing Certification Authority (CA) to the “extensions” section of the X.509 certificate. We demo...
متن کاملA Java API for X.509 Proxy Certificates
X.509 Proxy Certificates have been proposed for use in the Grid Security Infrastructure to allow dynamic delegation of rights and single sign-on for end users. We have evaluated proxy certificates to secure a service-oriented architecture for digital content based on Web Services. We describe how support for proxy certificates was implemented in Java through extensions to the Java Cryptography ...
متن کاملThe Initium X.509 Certificate Wizard
This paper describes the use of the Thawte’s “Web of Trust” X.509 certificates for signing and distributing executable Jar resources. A keytool wizard (called the Initium X.509 Certificate Wizard) was developed in order to help with the importation and management of certificates. A signed Jar file generally indicates that the signer authorizes the contents. Signing is accomplished using a certi...

Open-access 802.11 public Wi-Fi hotspots have become a basic necessity for hundreds of millions of mobile users’ persistent on-the-go access to the Internet. 802.11 Wi-Fi networks are designed and deployed to support rudimentary low-level authentication at the link layer enabling an AP to decide whether to allow a client to associate. Similar authentication mechanisms are not provisioned for th...
