چکیده

We show that a set of conformally invariant equations derived from the Fefferman-Graham tensor can be used to construct global solutions of vacuum Einstein equations, in all even dimensions. This gives, in particular, a new, simple proof of Friedrich’s result on the future hyperboloidal stability of Minkowski spacetime, and extends its validity to even dimensions.

دسته‌ای از جوابهای دقیق گرانش با مشتقات بالاتر در چهار بعد

In this paper we consider the action of higher derivative gravity up to the second order terms in the scalars made from the Ricci scalar, Ricci and Riemann tensors. We use the Bach- Lanczos identity of the Weyl tensor in four dimensions and show that the solutions of 4-dimensional Einstein equations with cosmological constant term in vacuum, which are known as Einstein metrics, satisfy the fie...

The asymptotics of stationary electro-vacuum metrics in odd space-time dimensions

We show that stationary, asymptotically flat solutions of the electrovacuum Einstein equations are analytic at i, for a large family of gauges, in odd space-time dimensions higher than seven. The same is true in space-time dimension five for static vacuum solutions with non-vanishing mass.

On analytic asymptotically-flat vacuum and electrovac metrics, periodic in time

By an argument similar to that of Gibbons and Stewart [5], we show that there are no weakly-asymptotically-simple, analytic vacuum or electrovac solutions of the Einstein equations which are periodic in time.

How to bypass Birkhoff through extra dimensions A simple framework for investigating the gravitational collapse in vacuum

It is fair to say that our current mathematical understanding of the dynamics of gravitational collapse to a black hole is limited to the spherically symmetric situation and, in fact, even in this case much remains to be learned. The reason is that Einstein’s equations become tractable only if they are reduced to a 1 + 1 dimensional system of partial differential equations. Due to this technica...

On the topology of vacuum spacetimes

We prove that there are no restrictions on the spatial topology of asymptotically flat solutions of the vacuum Einstein equations in (n + 1)-dimensions. We do this by gluing a solution of the vacuum constraint equations on an arbitrary compact manifold Σn to an asymptotically Euclidean solution of the constraints on Rn. This is a special case of a more general gluing construction for nondegener...
