Blast-wave Snapshots from Rhic

چکیده
I present fits with the so-called blast-wave model to single-particle spectra and HBT correlations from Au+Au collisions at a CMS energy of 130 AGeV. There is only little choice of freeze-out temperature and transverse flow velocity for which the model fits both the identified spectra and the correlation radii just well enough not to be excluded. The observed steep M⊥ dependence of Rside leads to a temperature which it is problematic to interpret. The applicability of the model for the freeze-out description is thus questioned.

Collective dynamics of the fireball
I analyse the identified single-particle pt spectra and two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations from RHIC. They indicate a massive transverse expansion and rather short lifetime of the system. The quantitative analysis in framework of the blast-wave model yields, however, unphysical results and suggests that the model may not be applicable in description of two-particle correlations. I then discuss...
متن کاملNumerical Investigation of Circular Plates Deformation under Air Blast Wave
In the current research the maximum deflection of circular plates made of AA5010 and AA1100 alloys under blast load was investigated. Shock waves were produced by exploding a spherical charge in different distances from the center of plates. The ABAQUS software uses conwep equation for blast loading analysis. It was found the results of these simulations have about 30% to 40% inaccuracy in comp...
متن کاملOn the thermal nature of charmonium transverse momentum spectra from Au-Au collisions at RHIC
We discuss the transverse momentum distribution of J/ψ mesons produced in Au + Au collisions at the top RHIC energy. We argue that the data on the corresponding spectra do not necessarily imply an essential non-thermal J/ψ emission: the peculiarities of the spectra slopes at RHIC can be interpreted as evidence for flow fluctuations of thermal matter formed in A+A collisions. We present a blast-...
متن کاملBiomechanical analysis of blast-induced traumatic brain injury
Purpose: Blast-induced traumatic brain injury (bTBI) is one of the causes of death or permanent invalidity which can occur unexpectedly in both military and civilian populations. This study set out to conduct a combined Eulerian-Lagrangian computational analysis of the interaction between a single planar blast wave and a human head in order to assess the extent of intracranial shock w...
متن کاملNumerical analysis of energy transmission through discontinuities and fillings in Kangir Dam
A considerable amount of energy is released in the form of shock wave from explosive charge detonation. Shock wave energy is responsible for the creation of crushing and fracture zone around the blast hole. The rest of the shock wave energy is transferred to rock mass as ground vibration. Ground vibration is conveyed to the adjacent structures by body and surface waves. Geological structures li...
