Optimal control of interface problems with hp-finite elements

چکیده
We investigate the optimal control of elliptic PDEs with jumping coefficients. As discretization we use interface concentrated finite elements on subdomains with smooth data. In order to apply convergence results, we prove higher regularity of the optimal solution using the concept of quasimonotone coefficients and a domain that is injective modulo polynomials of degree 1 at each vertex. Numerical results are presented for a semi-linear control problem with a non-local radiation operator, which models the production process of silicon carbide single crystals.

hp-ADAPTIVE 3D FINITE ELEMENT PACKAGE
The paper presents a description of par3Dhp a 3D, parallel, fully automatic hp-adaptive finite element code for elliptic and Maxwell problems. The parallel implementation is an extension of the sequential code 3Dhp90, which generates, in a fully automatic mode, optimal hp meshes for various boundary value problems. The system constitutes an infrastructure for a class of parallel hp adaptive com...
متن کاملA RESIDUAL–BASED POSTERIORI ERROR ESTIMATES FOR hp FINITE ELEMENT SOLUTIONS OF GENERAL BILINEAR OPTIMAL CONTROL PROBLEMS
In this paper, we investigate a residual-based posteriori error estimates for the hp finite element approximation of general optimal control problems governed by bilinear elliptic equations. By using the hp discontinuous Galerkin finite element approximation for the control and the hp finite element approximation for both the state and the co-state, we derive a posteriori upper error bounds for...

In this paper, we investigate residual-based a posteriori error estimates for the hp finite element approximation of semilinear Neumann boundary elliptic optimal control problems. By using the hp finite element approximation for both the state and the co-state and the hp discontinuous Galerkin finite element approximation for the control, we derive a posteriori error bounds in L2-H1 norms for t...
متن کاملOn the Displacement-Stress Continuous Finite Elements
For the analysis of composite media, three different compatible and mixed finite element formulations are presented which apriori enforce the continuity of stresses as well as displacements at the element interfaces. The formulations are applied for the analysis of hi-material interfaces in two problems often encountered in the field of orthopaedic biomechanics, that is the fixation analysis in...
متن کاملA short step method designed for solving linear quadratic optimal control problems with hp finite elements
We consider linear quadratic optimal control problems with elliptic PDEs. The problem is solved with an interior point method in the control variable. We prove convergence of the short step method in function space by employing a suitable smoothing operator. As discretization we choose hp-FEM based on local estimates on the smoothness of functions. A fully adaptive algorithm is implemented and ...
