چکیده
Let d be a square free positive integer and Od the ring of integers in Q( √ −d). The main result of this paper is to show that the groups PSL(2, Od) are subgroup separable on geometrically finite subgroups.

Separation of Relatively Quasiconvex Subgroups
Suppose that all hyperbolic groups are residually finite. The following statements follow: In relatively hyperbolic groups with peripheral structures consisting of finitely generated nilpotent subgroups, quasiconvex subgroups are separable; Geometrically finite subgroups of non-uniform lattices in rank one symmetric spaces are separable; Kleinian groups are subgroup separable. We also show that...
متن کاملThe influence of S-embedded subgroups on the structure of finite groups
Let H be a subgroup of a group G. H is said to be S-embedded in G if G has a normal T such that HT is an S-permutable subgroup of G and H ∩ T ≤ H sG, where H denotes the subgroup generated by all those subgroups of H which are S-permutable in G. In this paper, we investigate the influence of minimal S-embedded subgroups on the structure of finite groups. We determine the structure the finite grou...
متن کاملA ug 2 00 9 Bianchi groups are conjugacy separable
We prove that non-uniform arithmetic lattices of SL2(C) and in particular the Bianchi groups are conjugacy separable. The proof based on recent deep results of Agol, Long, Reid and Minasyan.
متن کاملN ov 2 00 4 Bounded geometry in relatively hyperbolic groups
We prove that a group is hyperbolic relative to virtually nilpotent subgroups if and only if there exists a Gromov-hyperbolic metric space with bounded geometry on which it acts as a relatively hyperbolic group. As a consequence we obtain that any group hyperbolic relative to virtually nilpotent subgroups has finite asymptotic dimension. For these groups the Novikov conjecture holds. The class ...
متن کاملProfinite Topologies in Free Products of Groups
Let H be an abstract group and let C be a variety of finite groups (i.e., a class of finite groups closed under taking subgroups, quotients and finite direct products); for example the variety of all finite p-groups, for a fixed prime p. Consider the smallest topology on H such that all the homomorphism H −→ C from H to any group C ∈ C (endowed with the discrete topology) is continuous. We refe...
