چکیده

Nowadays, the constraint solvers play a fundamental role in many graphical applications, including geometrical and mechanical CAD systems, layouts, user interface, and animation. These applications use constraints to conveniently describe relations between objects. Constraints are automatically maintained and satisfied by a constraints solver. So, numerical and tedious tasks are left to the solver and the designer can concentrate on design process. In this paper, we present concepts of constraints and constraints solvers. We classify the principal resolution methods, giving their drawbacks and shortcomings. We also examine different domains of applications using constraint solvers.

Model-based fault diagnosis for aerospace systems: a survey

This survey of model-based fault diagnosis focuses on those methods that are applicable to aerospace systems. To highlight the characteristics of aerospace models, generic nonlinear dynamical modelling from flight mechanics is recalled and a unifying representation of sensor and actuator faults is presented. An extensive bibliographical review supports a description of the key points of fault d...

Production Constraints Modelling: A Tactical Review Approach

A constraint is a limitation or a restriction that poses a threat to the performance and efficiency of a system. This paper presented a tactical review approach to production constraints modeling. It discussed the theory of constraints (TOC) as a thinking process and continuous improvement strategy to curtail constraints in other to constantly increase the performance and efficiency of a system...

Identificação E Controle De Processos via Desenvolvimentos Em Séries Ortonormais. Parte B: Controle Preditivo

This paper presents an overview about predictive control schemes based on orthonormal basis function models. Different predictive control schemes based on such models are discussed, namely, linear controllers with terminal (stabilizing) constraints, robust controllers, and non-linear controllers. The discussions comprise a broad bibliographical survey on the subject as well as two case studies ...

Analysis of interactions among barriers in project risk management

In the context of the scope, time, cost, and quality constraints, failure is not uncommon in project management. While small projects have 70% chances of success, large projects virtually have no chance of meeting the quadruple constraints. While there is no dearth of research on project risk management, the manifestation of barriers to project risk management is a less dwelt topic. The success...

Modelling Soft Constraints: A Survey

Constraint programming is an approach for solving (mostly combinatorial) problems by stating constraints over the problem variables. In some problems, there is no solution satisfying all the constraints or the problem formulation must deal with uncertainty, vagueness, or imprecision. In such a case the standard constraint satisfaction techniques dealing with hard constraints cannot be used dire...
