چکیده
meenakshikanwar(at)yahoo.com Abstract Over the past several years, treatment of infectious diseases and immunization has undergone a paradigm shift. Stemming from the nanobiotechnology research, not only a large number of disease-specific biologicals have been developed, but also enormous efforts have been made to effectively deliver these biologicals. Niosomes are vesicular systems prepared from selfassembly of hydrated non-ionic surfactants. Opinions of the usefulness of niosomes in delivery of proteins and biologicals range from unsubstantiated optimism to undeserved pessimism. This article reviews the current deepening and widening of interest of niosomes in many scientific disciplines, and their application in medicine particularly for the delivery of proteins (insulin, cyclosporine, bacitracin, trypsin), vaccines and antigens (bovine serum albumin, antigen tetanus toxoid, haemagglutinin). This article also presents an overview of techniques of noisome preparation, characterization of niosomes and their applications.

An eye is the most precious and easily accessible organ of the body. It possesses easy route to local drug delivery and is a way to non-invasive clinical treatment of ocular diseases. Ocular delivery in spite of possessing various advantages has the limitation of poor bioavailability and low permeability across the cornea thus, limiting the efficacy of drugs. Therefore, various carrier systems ...

The turn of century has witnessed a huge increase in the number of technologies and immunological approaches for new vaccine design. Vesicular carriers, i.e. liposomes, niosomes, transfersomes represent widely exploited class of novel delivery systems for topical applications. Non-invasive vaccination onto the skin using these novel carriers could improve vaccination programs because the proced...

Niosomes, non-ionic surfactant vesicles (NSVs), are the hydrated lipids composed mainly of different classes of non-ionic surfactants, introduced in the seventies as a cosmetic vehicle. Nowadays, niosomes are used as important new drug delivery systems by many research groups and also they are effective immunoadjuvants which some commercial forms are available in the market. These vesicles rece...

This study aims to investigate the capability of forming itraconazole containing niosomes with Span 60 and Brij 58 as non-ionic surfactants. Lower cost and higher stability makes niosomes a more suitable choice in comparison with liposomes. The capability to form vesicles as an itraconazole delivery system and the influence of different factors such as type of surfactant and molar ratio of chole...
