Micromagnetic modeling of laser-induced magnetization dynamics using the Landau-Lifshitz-Bloch equation

چکیده
We present a dynamic approach to micromagnetics based on the Landau-Lifshitz-Bloch equation and Langevin dynamics. This type of modeling will be necessary at high temperatures when the magnetization length is not conserved, especially close to the Curie temperature. We model the laser-induced magnetization dynamics with various laser pulse fluences and show that the results are consistent with both experiments and atomistic modeling. Our results show different recovery rates depending on the final demagnetized state. DOI: 10.1063/1.2822807

Dynamic approach for micromagnetics close to the Curie temperature
In conventional micromagnetism magnetic domain configurations are calculated based on a continuum theory for the magnetization. This theory assumes that the absolute magnetization value is constant in space and time. Dynamics is usually described with the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert LLG equation, the stochastic variant of which includes finite temperatures. Using simulation techniques with atomisti...
متن کاملKey role of temperature in ferromagnetic Bloch point simulations
Bloch points in permalloy cylinders are investigated using a micromagnetic framework, where thermal effects are included via the Landau-Lifshitz-Bloch equation of motion. We show that this enables micromagnetic modeling of a Bloch point avoiding the problem of singularities, which have been rep0l1ed in the literature so far. The details of the Bloch point which we reveal are compared with earli...
متن کاملGeneralization of the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation for conducting ferromagnets.
We propose an extension of the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert (LLG) equation by explicitly including the role of conduction electrons in magnetization dynamics of conducting ferromagnets. The temporal and spatial dependent magnetization order parameter m(r,t) generates both electrical and spin currents that provide dissipation of the energy and angular momentum of the processing magnet. The resulting ...
متن کاملMetropolis Monte Carlo analysis of all-optical switching
This paper deals with Metropolis Monte Carlo analysis of the all-optical switching. The laser-induced magnetization dynamics with various laser pulse fluencies and durations are followed by analysis of probable transitions occurred in the sample. The calibration of Monte Carlo steps with physical time was performed by comparison with a reference dynamics described by Landau–Lifshitz–Bloch equat...
متن کاملConvergence result for the constraint preserving mid-point scheme for micromagnetism
An important progress was recently done in numerical approximation of weak solutions to a micromagnetic model equation. The problem with the nonconvex sideconstraint of preserving the length of the magnetization was tackled by using reduced integration. Several schemes were proposed and their convergence to weak solutions was proved. All schemes were derived from the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert for...
