An entropy based theory for the viscosity of strong glasses

چکیده
One of the main applications of the stochastic matrix method is the evaluation of the probability of finding boroxol rings and dendrites in a boron oxide glass. In this work, we calculate the configurational entropy of B2O3 using this probability and Shannon’s definition of entropy. The isentropic temperature is evaluated obtaining a very good agreement with experimental data. Entropy is introduced into the Adam-Gibbs equation to calculate viscosity. The resulting expression fits the complete range of temperatures for the supercooled liquid.

In the second self-creation theory of gravitation and in the general theory of relativity, Bianchi type VI0 cosmological model in the presence of viscous fluid is studied. An exact solution of the field equations is given by considering the cosmological model yields a constant decelerations parameter q=constant and the coefficients of the metric are taken as A(t)=[c1t+c<su...
متن کاملConfigurational Entropy Approach to the Kinetics of Glasses
A kinetic theory of glasses is developed using equilibrium theory as a foundation. After establishing basic criteria for glass formation and the capability of the equilibrium entropy theory to describe the equilibrium aspects of glass formation, a minimal model for the glass kinetics is proposed. Our kinetic model is based on a trapping description of particle motion in which escapes from deep ...

This paper assumes the cell formation problem as a distributed decision network. It proposes an approach based on application and extension of information theory concepts, in order to analyze informational complexity in an agent- based system, due to interdependence between agents. Based on this approach, new quantitative concepts and definitions are proposed in order to measure the amount of t...

Analysis of intrinsic irreversibility and heat transfer in a buoyancy-driven changeable viscosity liquid along an incline heated wall with convective cooling taking into consideration the heated isothermal and isoflux wall is investigated. By Newton’s law of cooling, we assumed the free surface exchange heat with environment and fluid viscosity is exponentially dependent on temperature. Appropr...
متن کاملThermodynamics and kinetics of the Mg65Cu25Y10 bulk metallic glass forming liquid
The thermodynamics and kinetics of the bulk metallic glass forming Mg65Cu25Y10 liquid were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry and three-point beam bending. The experiments lead to the determination of the thermodynamic functions as well as the viscosity of the supercooled liquid. The viscosity shows a temperature dependence, which is consistent with that of a strong glass simi...
