A Framework of MLaaS for Facilitating Adaptive Micro Learning through Open Education Resources in Mobile Environment

Microlearningbecomespopularinonlineopenlearninganditiseffectiveandhelpfulforlearningin mobileenvironment.However,thedeliveryofopeneducationresources(OERs)isscarcelysupported bythecurrentonlinesystems.Inthisresearch,theauthorsintroduceanapproachtobridgethegap byprovidingadaptivemicroopeneducationresourcesforindividuallearnerstocarryoutlearning activitiesinashorttimespan.Theyproposeaframeworkformicrolearningresourcecustomization andapersonalizedlearnermodel,whicharesupportedbyeducationdatamining(EDM)andlearning analysis(LA).Aservice-orientedarchitectureforMicroLearningasaService(MLaaS)isdesigned to integrateallnecessaryprocedures togetherasacompleteService fordeliveringmicroOERs, providing a platform for resource sharing and exchanging in peer-to-peer learning environment. Workingprincipleofakeystep,namelythecomputationaldecision-makingofmicroOERadaptation, isalsointroduced.
