چکیده

We present a modular architecture for image understanding and active computer vision which consists of three major components: Sensor and actor interfaces required for data{driven active vision are encapsulated to hide machine{dependent parts; image segmentation is implemented in object{ oriented programming as a hierarchy of image operator classes, guaranteeing simple and uniform interfaces; knowledge about the environment is represented either as a semantic network or as statistical object models or as a combination of both; the semantic network formalism is used to represent actions which are needed in explorative vision. We apply these modules to create two application systems. The emphasis here is object localization and recognition in an ooce room: an active purposive camera control is applied to recover depth information and to focus on interesting objects; color segmentation is used to compute object features which are relatively insensitive to small aspect changes. Object hypotheses are veriied by an A {based search using the knowledge base. Visual Data Fusion for Objects Localization by Active Vision

Visual sensors provide exclusively uncertain and partial knowledge of a scene. In this article, we present a suitable scene knowledge representation that makes integration and fusion of new, uncertain and partial sensor measures possible. It is based on a mixture of stochastic and set membership models. We consider that, for a large class of applications, an approximated representation is suffi...

Compressed Domain Scene Change Detection Based on Transform Units Distribution in High Efficiency Video Coding Standard

Scene change detection plays an important role in a number of video applications, including video indexing, searching, browsing, semantic features extraction, and, in general, pre-processing and post-processing operations. Several scene change detection methods have been proposed in different coding standards. Most of them use fixed thresholds for the similarity metrics to determine if there wa...

Knowledge-based view control of a neural 3-D object recognition system

The recognition of 3-D objects is surely one of the most challenging goals in computer vision. In this paper we present a robot vision system that analyzes its environment by active vision techniques. Therefore, the system is gathering information about an object in the scene by taking multiple views. It is designed as a hybrid system that brings together the advantages of neural networks and k...

Autonomous Knowledge Acquisition of a Service Robot by Probabilistic Perception Planning

This paper presents a concept for active scene modeling by autonomous knowledge acquisition of a service robot in a kitchen scenario. Perceiving complex scenes with multiple objects at arbitrary positions is often difficult from a single measurement due to object ambiguities, object occlusions or environmental influences. The incorporation of several sequential measurements helps to improve sce...

The Study of Relationship Between Work Teams and Favoring Knowledge Management(Case: Bank Keshavarzi)

Knowledge management is a process that has been recently generated as an activity which is very important in the dynamic environment, and in the competitive scene. We believe that KM is a process which its organizational knowledge is created from the individual knowledge of the members of the organization. The relevant studies have indicated that organizing based on work teams could be consider...
