Another Characterisation of Planar Graphs

چکیده
A new characterisation of planar graphs is presented. It concerns the structure of the cocycle space of a graph, and is motivated by consideration of the dual of an elementary property enjoyed by sets of circuits in any graph.

$n$-Array Jacobson graphs
We generalize the notion of Jacobson graphs into $n$-array columns called $n$-array Jacobson graphs and determine their connectivities and diameters. Also, we will study forbidden structures of these graphs and determine when an $n$-array Jacobson graph is planar, outer planar, projective, perfect or domination perfect.
متن کاملStraight-line Drawings of 1-planar Graphs
The classical Fáry’s theorem from the 1930s states that every planar graph can be drawn as a straight-line drawing. In this paper, we extend Fáry’s theorem to non-planar graphs. More specifically, we study the problem of drawing 1-planar graphs with straight-line edges. A 1-planar graph is a sparse non-planar graph with at most one crossing per edge. We give a characterisation of those 1planar ...
متن کاملOn the M-polynomial of planar chemical graphs
Let $G$ be a graph and let $m_{i,j}(G)$, $i,jge 1$, be the number of edges $uv$ of $G$ such that ${d_v(G), d_u(G)} = {i,j}$. The $M$-polynomial of $G$ is $M(G;x,y) = sum_{ile j} m_{i,j}(G)x^iy^j$. With $M(G;x,y)$ in hands, numerous degree-based topological indices of $G$ can be routinely computed. In this note a formula for the $M$-polynomial of planar (chemical) graphs which have only vertices...
متن کاملFáry's Theorem for 1-Planar Graphs
Fáry’s theorem states that every plane graph can be drawn as a straightline drawing. A plane graph is a graph embedded in a plane without edge crossings. In this paper, we extend Fáry’s theorem to non-planar graphs. More specifically, we study the problem of drawing 1-plane graphs with straight-line edges. A 1-plane graph is a graph embedded in a plane with at most one crossing per edge. We giv...
متن کاملA Simple Criterion for Nodal 3-connectivity in Planar Graphs
This paper gives a simple characterisation of nodally 3-connected planar graphs, which have the property that barycentric mappings, and more generally convex combination mappings, are embeddings. This has applications in numerical analysis (grid generation), and in computer graphics (image morphing, surface triangulations, texture mapping): see [2,11].
