Mechanical behaviour of the « head - neck » system under impact acceleration

چکیده

Mechanical and mathematical models of human body are the effective instruments for solving the problem of elaboration of protection against impact acceleration, which arise from an accident. These models should describe the dynamics of vertebral column in general and behaviour of intervertebral disks in particular. A great number of mathematical model were proposed for this purposes. The model of McHenry and Naab one of the firsts [1], where the neck was represented by a single joint. The full-scale model was represented in paper [2]. It is important to have an adequate model of intervertebral disc [3] but it is also very important to include skeletal muscles, which are multi-joint ones [4]. Such an attempt was undertaken in the work of Tregubov [5]. At present work the model of head-neck system exposed to horizontal impact acceleration is considered with due respect to the neck skeletal muscle effect.
