IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control OBSERVABILITY OF DISCRETE EVENT DYNAMIC SYSTEMS
نویسنده
چکیده
A finite state automaton is adopted as a model for Discrete Event Dynamic Systems (DEDS). Observations are assumed to be a subset of the event alphabet. Observability is defined as having perfect knowledge of the current state at points in time seperated by bounded numbers of transitions. A polynomial test for observability is given. It is shown that an observer may be constructed and implemented in polynomial time and space. A bound on the cardinality of the observer state space is also presented. A notion of resiliency is defined for observers, and a test for resilient observability and a procedure for the construction of a resilient observer are presented. 1 Research supported by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research under Grant AFOSR-88-0032 and by the Army Research Office under Grant DAAL03-86-K0171. Partial Observation in Distributed Supervisory Control of Discrete-Event Systems
Distributed supervisory control is a method to synthesize local controllers in discrete-eventsystems with a systematic observation of the plant. Some works were reported on extending this methodby which local controllers are constructed so that observation properties are preserved from monolithic todistributed supervisory control, in an up-down approach. In this paper, we find circumstances in ...
متن کاملDecentralized prognosis of fuzzy discrete-event systems
This paper gives a decentralized approach to the problem of failure prognosis in the framework of fuzzy discrete event systems (FDES). A notion of co-predictability is formalized for decentralized prognosis of FDESs, where several local agents with fuzzy observability rather than crisp observability are used in the prognosis task. An FDES is said to be co-predictable if each faulty event can be...
متن کاملON CONTROLLABILITY AND OBSERVABILITY OF FUZZY CONTROL SYSTEMS
In order to more effectively cope with the real world problems of vagueness, imprecise and subjectivity, fuzzy event systems were proposed recently. In this paper, we investigate the controllability and the observability property of two systems that one of them has fuzzy variables and the other one has fuzzy coefficients and fuzzy variables (fully fuzzy system). Also, sufficient conditions for ...
متن کاملModeling and control of fuzzy discrete event systems
In order to make it possible to effectively represent deterministic uncertainties and vagueness as well as the human subjective observation and judgement inherent to many real-world problems, especially those in biomedicine, we introduce, in this paper, fuzzy states and fuzzy events and generalize (crisp) discrete event systems (DES) to fuzzy DES. The largely graph-based current framework of th...
متن کاملRecent Developments in Discrete Event Systems
This article is a brief exposure of the process approach to a newly emerging area called "discrete event systems" in control theory and summarizes some of the recent developments in this area. Discrete event systems is an area of research that is developing within the interstices of computer, control and communication sciences. The basic direction of research addresses issues in the analysis an...
