Data Flow Sequences: A Revision of Data Flow Diagrams for Modelling Applications using XML
نویسنده
چکیده
Data Flow Diagrams were developed in the 1970’s as a method of modelling data flow when developing information systems. While DFDs are still being used, the modern web-based which is client-server based means that DFDs are not as useful. This paper proposes a modified form of DFD that incorporates, amongst other features sequences. The proposed system, called Data Flow Sequences (DFS) is better able to model real world systems in a way that simplifies application development. The paper also proposes an XML implementation for DFS which allows analytical tools to be used to analyse the DFS diagrams. The paper discusses a tool that is able to detect orphan data flow sequences and other potential problems. Keywords—Data Flow Diagrams; Modelling diagrams; XML; Data Flow Sequence Diagrams

A Decision Tree for Technology Selection of Nitrogen Production Plants
Nitrogen is produced mainly from its most abundant source, the air, using three processes: membrane, pressure swing adsorption (PSA) and cryogenic. The most common method for evaluating a process is using the selection diagrams based on feasibility studies. Since the selection diagrams are presented by different companies, they are biased, and provide unsimilar and even controversial results. I...
متن کاملModeling of monthly flow duration curve using nonlinear regression method for un-gauged watersheds of Ardabil Province
The flow duration curve (FDC) represents the frequency distribution of water flow over a period of time, which is widely used in hydrology to evaluate different ranges of river water flow applications. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a suitable estimation model and method in un-gauged watersheds. To this end, in the present study, a modeling method based on nonlinear regression, for the p...

Investigation of concentration polarization in a cross-flow nanofiltration membrane: Experiment and CFD modelling
Numerous researches have been investigated on the mass transfer phenomena and hydrodynamics for the fluid in the vicinity of the membrane surface by the mathematical modelling and simulation. Due to complexities involved in solving transport phenomena within membranes, the application of CFD simulation study for determining the concentration polarization (CP) profile in the membrane channel is ...
متن کاملDynamic process modelling using Petri nets with applications to nuclear power plant emergency management
Complex information systems are difficult to model and expensive to build. Numerous process modelling methodologies, such as action workflow, data flow diagrams, decision trees, entity relationship diagrams, process maps, role activity diagrams and role interaction nets, have been developed to provide high level abstraction of a system. Despite their huge popularity, these methodologies cannot ...
