A Throughput-oriented OLSR Enhancement based on a Multi-Channel Power Controlled Scheme in Ad Hoc Networks

This paper considers the throughput improvement issue in multi-hop ad hoc networks. We follow the approach that uses both multiple interface equipped nodes and multiple channels. The proposed solution enhances the routing protocol so that it selects routes that use multiple channels and alternate them at each intermediate node in order to reduce the intra-flow interferences. Then it adapts the node transmission power in order to limit the interference while favoring the channel reusing. Simulation tests of the OLSR protocol modified with our scheme show that it performs better than existing protocols and multiplies the throughput by 3.7.
